Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate

Hi All,

Is there any further update on this?

I've just been informed that we may be going over to Air for development, and an Air version of the Webhelp may be required.....

So..

I downloaded Air 1.5. from Adobe.com
Installed
Rebooted
Checked which versions of Jave (only Java 6 + Updates)
Ran ...

Re: Setting a Toggler to Open Expanded

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies.

RamonS: All of the images are already there. The help system is for a software package that uses multi-tabbed screens, and therefore I have put links on each of the tabs in the image to jump to the specific help topic for the tab selected (including the microhelp ...

Re: Setting a Toggler to Open Expanded

Unfortunately (and due to using too many features of Flare:? ) each of the images is a screen shot of the application, and I've set hyperlinks in the image map to open different screens depending on the area of the screenshot clicked.

Seeing as how the Project Managers like this functionality, they ...

Re: Setting a Toggler to Open Expanded

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the quick response. As I've got a couple of hundred screenshots all controlled by togglers, I think the feature request is going in for now, and the togglers removed until the option is available witihn Flare.

I'm not quite adventurous enough to carryout the scripting a couple ...

Setting a Toggler to Open Expanded

Hi All,

I've had a scan through the forum, but have not found the answer to the following:

Is it possible to set-up the Madcap Toggler so it is automatically expanded when the page is opened?

Yours Hopefully

Hi,

Silly question I know, but, have you tried Cleaning the Project then rebuilding? This worked for me.

Just a suggestion, have you tried setting the Font Weight to 'Default' which will translate to 'Not Set'?

Re: More Accessible Search

Dave,

I love the idea, but for a total novice, could you please explain exactly how to get this working.

i.e. Do I need a text box, or another type of field in the topic to run the search?

Yours Hopefully

Re: Image naming in Images folder

Hi,

One thought on this (and this should be alright if you have the option of using a dual-screen setup) is to make a copy of the images folder in another location, then view the copied folder in Windows Explorer on one screen, using the Thumbnails view so you can see the image itself and its ...

Re: Not able to select new stylesheet

I have also encountered the same problem (for a Webhelp target).
I have two style sheets in use, one for main topics, the other for popups, and I had set the Master Stylesheet in the Target Editor to my main Stylesheet. This prevented me from selecting which stylesheet to use when adding a new ...

Re: Create a Snippet from a Table

Hi Kevin, Lisa,

Thanks for the replies.

It had been a long day after the weekend, and it did't even occur to me to create a dummy snippet then just paste the table in :?

Thanks to you both.

Create a Snippet from a Table

Hi All,

Is it possible to create a snippet from part of a table?

I have a formatted table with 2 columns and 2 rows that I want to make into a snippet, but when it is highlighted, the Format - Create Snippet option is greyed out. As I will be using this multiple times, a snippet seemed to be the ...

Hi Cecily,

Welcome to the forums.

I'll try to answer the questions as best as I can.

1) The free trial lasts for 30 days.

2) All of the X-Edit products are downloaded and installed by default, but Review is available immediately, and new reviewers do not have to use the full featured or ...

Flare V4 Analyser

Hi All,

I know there have been several posts on the Analyzer if Flare V4, and I have found it very helpful so far.

But, is there a way of stopping the scan after a file is deleted? I had another post regarding removing images, and am currently in the process of deleting the images that are no ...

Re: Image Dependancy

Hi All,

Thanks for the replies, I'm still deciding on the course of action to take.

Re: Image Dependancy

Hi RamonS,

Thanks for that, and to answer the question, no Flare does not put all images into the output.

I have doe a check, and there are 387 images in the output images folder and 609 in the project images folder.

Oh well, a bit of tidying up to be done.... :?

Thanks again

Image Dependancy

Hi All,

I think that this may have been raised in another post, but I cannot seem to find it (so apologies if this has already been answered :) ).

I'm now trying to tidy up ...

Re: WebHelp searches and the Invalid token error

Hi,

I believe this may be caused by the "Stop Words" filter that is included in Flare.

A search of the Flare Help for 'Stop Words' help retuns the following:
Including Stop Words in Search
Flare has a "stop words" list behind the scenes that omits certain common words (such as "an" and "the ...

Re: What could cause slow WebHelp builds?

Hi,

I have my project on a local drive, and have approx 1100 topics (including a Master Page).
The last build I did in V3.1 took approx 7.5 minutes, BUT, after upgrading to V4, the build only took 2.5 minutes.

If you have V4 installed, try carrying out a build (ensuring a copy of the project is ...

Thanks

Toggler Class

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me the difference between a toggler and a MadCap: Toggler is in Flare V4?

I've just upgraded from V3.1, and when updating the project inserted an image and went to add the image to a toggler. This is when I found there is a new class.
This wasn't there in V3.1, and I cannot ...

Re: Flare doesn't launch MImic

Hi,

I have Flare 3.1 and Mimic 2.0 (both licenced), and can launch Mimic from within Flare without any errors.
Note, this was tried just to open mimic, not with a specific mimic file.

Sorry I can't be of more help... :(
