Re: TFS: how to let Flare know that a project is already bound?
I have the same problem. Our TFS specialist created an account for me and bound my Flare projects using the Source Control Explorer, and the projects are now inaccessible. I contacted Flare support and they told me I had to remove the Flare projects from TFS, then re-bind them using the Flare ...

Re: "No topics found" when searching in 4.1-compiled CHM
Thanks Helen. I actually found the "solution" link seconds before your reply notification email arrived in my in-box. I remember now that this is the same solution I was given last time. I have just run the bat file and am recompiling the CHM now. Fingers crossed.

"No topics found" when searching in 4.1-compiled CHM
Hi all
I have just downloaded and installed Flare 4.1, and I notice that if I perform a search in a CHM file that is compiled in 4.1 then I get "No topics found" whatever I try to search for. If I do the same search in a CHM file compiled last week (in Flare 4.0) from the same project, the the ...

Re: Changing the color of visited links
I modified the pseudo classes for a. and Madcap|Xref, but Madcap|Xref only has the "hover" and "focus" classes; the "link" and "visited" classes do not appear to exist for Madcap|Xref. I then compiled a CHM output and tested. "Standard" links work as specified (bold on mouse-over and color change ...

Re: Changing the color of visited links
Hi Lisa
Thanks for the tips. I have now got the "hover" and "visited" settings to work as I want for links, and the "hover" settings work for Xrefs. But I can't get "visited" Xrefs to change color yet. Any ideas?

Changing the color of visited links
Hi all
At the moment the links and cross-references in my CHM/HTML documentation are the standard blue-underlined, whether or not they have been clicked. How do I get the color to change once a link has been clicked?

Re: "...key not present in dictionary" error
This is obviously bad news for all who are effected, but on the other hand, it is comforting to know that this is clearly a Flare 4.0 bug, not just me with finger-trouble...
I'll register a bug and see what the folks at Madcap can tell me, and I'll put any solutions here.

Re: Problem with headers and footers on first page
OK, I have a result that appears to work. It involves changing all the affected projects though  , but that's life... The message I received from Support is as follows:
Open up your target (Project Organizer\Targets) Then go to the advanced tab and under Master Page, change it to "default ...

Re: "...key not present in dictionary" error
Hi Ramon
I have now tried your suggestion but unfortunately it didn't make any difference. I then deleted the topic from the TOC and attempted to compile. This time the compilation passed the point where it previously failed, thereby identifying the problem file conclusively, but it failed with the ...

Re: Problem with headers and footers on first page
Bob. I've checked the Page Type - the "Start a new chapter document" option was not checked so Page Type was not available. I have checked the box and selected Page Type to be First but this makes no difference. Support have asked me to upload the project so they can check it out. I'll do this and ...

"...key not present in dictionary" error
Hi
I have the same problem as Pat.Riv reported on Monday October 15 2007 - before updating to 4.0 I had no problems compiling Word output from my project. Now however I get the error message "Internal error: The given key was not present in the dictionary", and the compilation stops. This error ...

Re: Problem with headers and footers on first page
Hi Steve
I have just created a new masterpage and the problem persists. It looks as though Flare 4 is treating the first page as any other odd page. I'll contact support and see what they say.
Thanks for your time.

Problem with headers and footers on first page
Hi all
In my Word outputs the first page is always a cover page without headers or footers. Thereafter, the inside front page and remaining front matter (copyright page, TOC etc.) have headers (odd and even) and footers with Roman page numbering, while the content of the manual has the same headers ...

Re: OutOfMemoryException error when compiling Word
All. Thanks for your comments. However the problem appears to have evaporated. Having received the same error message on 5-6 consutive compilations over several days, I can now compile without problems. Thinking about the memory issue, I have tried loading up the pc with masses of programs running ...

OutOfMemoryException error when compiling Word
Hi all
I recently upgraded to Flare 4.0. Now when I attempt to compile a Word output, the compilation proceeds fine until I suddenly get the message "Internal error: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException'was thrown." and the compilation stops.
There is no problem with the project - it ...

Re: How to remove Related Topics links from Word output
Hi Scott. Thanks for the tip. This came from a rather unexpected "direction" :D I'll try it and see how it goes.
Is there no way one can add a condition to e.g. the style sheet? Do you know if Madcap have made a deliberate change to the code or is this just something that has sneaked in (or out ...

How to remove Related Topics links from Word output
Hi
In Flare 3.1, Related Topics links were automatically removed from topics when a Word output was compiled. In Flare 4.0, it appears that the RT links are not removed automatically, and an error line is generated for each and every RT link in the project. I have more than 1000 RT links in the one ...
