The multiple levels of master/slaves worked - woo hoo!!!
Unfortunately, reducing the number of projects isn't an option - it's a legacy help system that is being moved to a new interface without the same CSH capabilities. So I had to create a workaround - which was the master/slave thingy.

Re: Cannot Open the file: mk:@MSITStore when Compiling Master
ACK! That's it . . . the 1148 for the merge files was causing the problem.
So what you're saying about the recursive thing . . . is the following true.
We have 36 modules. So what I could do is create 36 "mini" masters . . . one for each module. For example:
AP
AR
OE
IC
WT
and so on.

Cannot Open the file: mk:@MSITStore when Compiling Master
I have a master project.
I've linked approximately 1300 other projects to it via a master TOC.
All works fine and dandy. No errors, final output .chm opens just fine and presents as expected.
Then I add another book with approximately 50 projects in it to link to the master.

Need to Merge .chm Files Without a TOC
Hello All
Way back in version 1 or 2, I asked if I could merge a .chm file into a master if the slave did not have a TOC. The answer was No.
We're now at 4.1 . . . I haven't seen anything different in 4.1 . . . not in any release notes or in the help or in options when I actually try the merge ...

Re: Generating Alias File: Missing Topic
Looks like that worked . . .there were random "box" characters replacing real characters throughout the file. Bluck.
Thanks for the tips. They all helped! I appreciate it.

Re: Generating Alias File: Missing Topic
Opening the file in WordPad worked . . . I found and deleted the "offending" lines :-)
The only issue is now when I try to build the output, I get the following error . . .
Internal Error: '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character. Line 86, position 50.
BLUCK!
Any ideas on that one ...

Re: Generating Alias File: Missing Topic
Nope - I can't find them in the header file, alias file, or contents list. I recognize the topics as topics that I deleted from the project. They also weren't topics that were ever mapped in the alias file since they weren't CSH topics. So I'm completely baffled.
Thanks

Generating Alias File: Missing Topic
When I build my output, I get many messages in the errors saying "Generating Alias File: Missing Topic..." and then it goes on to say the topic does not exist in the Content folder. And it's correct . . . the topic doesn't exist because I deleted it on purpose. I tried going in to the alias file to ...

Index Entries on Frame Import
Hi All
I've imported a FrameMaker book into Flare. It all works dandy - TOC, formatting, etc. The one piece I can't get to work is the Index. In each topic, there are multiple index entries throughout the topic. What I expect is that the index markers act as a sort of bookmark when they're in the ...

AutoNumbering in Flare from Frame Import
Hello All
I'm importing a Frame document into Flare. I see that you use autonumbering rather than lists when you do this. I'm good with that. My issue is, in the document that I'm importing, there are multiple numbered lists in a single topic, each having to start at 1. When I do the autonumbering ...

{Hyperlink} Appears Before XRefs in Flare
Hi
I'm working on importing FrameMaker files into Flare. I think I've got it figured out . . . except for the cross-reference links. They all show {Hyperlink} before the title of the actual link. I can't figure out how to get rid of the Hyperlink wording. I went into the MadcapXref style properties ...

Hello All
I have 62 projects. Each of those projects has a Table of contents in it. All of the proejcts are merged together through the Master project's Table of Contents. All of the books in all TOCs are linked to a topic.
