Re: Glossary Tab in HTML (CHM) Help

@EileenP

I see the image. I will investigate this to see if the approach will work.

Thanks for sharing.

Good luck with your conversions, etc.

Re: Glossary Tab in HTML (CHM) Help

@EileenP

Conversion from RH: It's been painful. Why RH had some interesting idiosyncracies, I found ways to work around them without much effort. I miss simple things like being able to press Ctrl+Shift+N to apply the Normal style like you can in Word and RH. Also, I find tables in Flare to be more ...

Re: Glossary Tab in HTML (CHM) Help

@EileenP

Sounds good.

I too am just getting started with Flare (converting from RoboHelp).

After having used RH for some time and being comfortable, I am finding the conversion to be troublesome. I am missing many of the eaier to use RH functions.

I am more of a WYSIWYG user so having to deal ...

Re: Glossary Tab in HTML (CHM) Help

@EileenP

Thanks for responding!!!

Sounds interesting.

Could you provide more detail regarding the steps?

I understand the creation of the Topic (named Glossary for example). I am thinking the topic then would appear in the TOC.

I am not clear on the following:

Creating a custom button. Where ...

Glossary Tab in HTML (CHM) Help

Flare 9.1.2

The output type for a project is HTML Help.

Can you help me make the glossary easier for the reader to use?

I have tried all the options I can find in the skin and target editors with no luck. I hope I have missed something that you can help me find.

I would like to make the ...

Re: Remove Index Keywords

IndexExamples.png @ LtTinker68

Thank you for taking the time to help.

Here are the steps that I am following.

Remove Index Keywords

Flare 9.1.2

I am using the Index Window to create keywords (top level, sub, etc.) and associate topics with the words.

I understand how to add an index term to a topic using the window terms window. I see the term added to the target topics. I see the term in the explorer window.

In explorer, how ...

Close the Start Page

Is it possible to make the Start Page close automatically after opening a project? This would eliminate a tab in the workspace that is unneeded.

Save Workspace Layout

Can someone tell me how to save the workspace layout and have it restored each time I start Flare?

I configure the Window such that the TOC Editor is displayed in the workspace. I want the TOC Editor to be displayed, at least as a tab each time I start Flare. Instead, I have to open the TOC each ...

Re: Mult-Level Lists

Hi SteveS,

Thanks for taking time to try and help me understand the quirkiness of Flare. I do realize that people who understand tags, blocks, CSS in detail would disagree that Flare is quirky. Alas, I am not yet in that group as I find a simple WYSIWG editor along with well-designed dialog boxes ...

Re: Mult-Level Lists

There's not much to explain really - you just use the indent and outdent toolbar buttons to change the list level.

I think I have the hang of creating a paragraph, starting numbers, and continuing the number sequence.

I am still having trouble with the Indent and Outdent operations.

The ...

Re: Mult-Level Lists

@Dave Lee,

I am working with the code that you provided.

In testing, I have found several items, and I am hopeful you can find time to help me.

I suspect some of the items may be related to the user (my action) and misunderstanding.

I have looked at your post at http://forums.madcapsoftware.com ...

Mult-Level Lists

PLEASE, I need help with mult-level lists.

I have well over 40 hours involved in trying to solve the issues in this post. I have studied the Flare Training manual in depth, searched Help, searched the Forums, invested time in trial and error, etc., etc., etc.

I want to easily create two styles ...
