This error occurs if you have specified running headers in your output, but the generated style can't be found.
What styles from the generated Word document do you want in the running header? The standard H1, H2 etc should work, but if you have added a class to your styles, like "h1.mystyle", then ...

Re: Find Results 1/2
By default, the results windows open up at the bottom of the screen after a "Find in files" search. If both are open they are displayed as tabs. The results can stay there while Flare is open, but they are not stored between sessions. Sometimes I have had trouble viewing the results (no window opens ...

Re: Word Import—Custom File Names
It's OK you can stop worrying, I have worked it out. In the private field, "MADCAP" has to be all uppercase.
For example - "PRIVATE:MADCAP:FILENAME:file_extra"
but note that "filename" can be lowercase.

Has any one got this new feature to work - "Word Import—Custom File Names"? I read about it on page 60 of the What's New Guide.

Re: Find Results 1/2
It's for those times when you have several searches and you want to keep your search results for a bit longer. Store your first search into 1 and your second search stored into 2. For most searching they are not necessary - I only use them when I need to do a "find in files" type of search. Also, in ...

Re: Not all word styles are imported
I see the p style and for example, my Note style under it. However, when I import the file, Note shows up in my styles FROM word but not in the list on the right for the available styles to map to in Flare.
I think there are a couple of issues with importing in v4 but I think I can help you ...

Open in text editor for Project Organizer files
I have just noticed with the upgrade to v4 that the option to open a file in the project organizer with a text editor has disappeared. Do I need to set a setting or has the option just gone? I found this particularly useful for troubleshooting alias files. I can still open the files from Windoze ...

I have finally updated to Flare v4 and done some testing here - this seems to be working OK.

Set the file name to "something.docx" and you will get a .DOCX file (Word 2007)

Re: Flare v4 & SQL SERVER 2005
We have the same situation with the full SQL, and have just installed v4 OK. In the past we had problems with SQL Express when we tried to run a trial version of Analyzer - it never worked so we were a bit hesitant as well. We put v4 on test machine and everything was fine - and we've now installed ...

Re: ehlpdhtm.js
If you are in a hurry you can just create the blank versions of the required files, but I'd recommend that you delete them and clean out all references to them. Working from memory here, when we migrated, the RH window definitions were converted to Flare skins, and this info is coded into the ehlp ...

One of the 3.1 patches fixes that problem - you should be able to get them from the Madcap site. This KB entry explains it and points to the link:

Re: Help viewer web part for SharePoint?
I can't help you with the Web Part question, but for what it's worth, we use Share Point document libraries for Webhelp for our help files. We use context sensitive help (CSH) easily. The apps that access the help files are not necessarily Share Point applications, mostly just other web apps. We ...

Re: Error message while opening help file in the application
Was this perhaps an imported project? Going from memory here, but we had this problem with RH projects that used the javascript file "ehlpdhtm.js". Window names are hard coded in that file and imported directly into Flare. If you later rename the generated skin this file is never updated. As we no ...

If you set the table width, and the width of the columns, then tables come through to Word OK. In fact, you usually only need to set the width of the first column and the second one automatically fills to the table size.

Those tags display if you have "Show carat tag neighborhood" set. This option can be found in the Tags menu button on the local toolbar (looks like a <t>). Search for "caret" in the help for lots of information about the different display tags.

Does anyone know what 'default' is being referred to in the margin settings of the body proxy??

You can change the label in the Skin Editor.

The Microsoft style guide recommends using "Verdana" for chms. For print output there is a million choices - we still use Arial, but we are starting to look at the new fonts with Office 2007.
