Re: Link to the Installation Guide?
Thanks for checking for me. I was hoping for some basic instructions rather than trouble shooting. Looks like I will have to create my own notes.

Link to the Installation Guide?
Is there a link to an Installation Guide somewhere in the help? I can't find anything like that in the new help files.
Our infrastructure teams are now doing all the installs, so they need to know what to install, what to licence, and about registration etc. I am hoping for a link so that I don't ...

If your engineers can use Markdown then get them to write in that. There are tools that convert Markdown to HTML that comes into Flare nicely.

Re: Word import - how to avoid inline styles?
Sorry - I don't think there is a way. I have raised that as a bug in Flare in the past but not heard back.
I also have a set of Find/Replace actions that I run on the imported text. While annoying, it is usually consistent, so Find/Replace is pretty quick.

Notepad++ is free for windows and could do the job.
I also have a paid-for version of the FAR Help tool that can do just about anything with find/replace.

That might be enough, but whenever we have changed staff,we have always sent email to support and they have ensured the registration is updated.
Being in the Australian timezone, contacting support in the US is never a great option but Madcap work well via email for us.

Could you create a condition called something like "OnceOff" and create a target that only includes that? You can still use the same TOC but only the one topic you want will hve the condition.

Re: Adding Import File vs letting Flare create automatically
I think the issue is your source file is missing. Flare checks the document styles when you open an import file, and can't do that if it is not there. (That checking does get annoying when you just want to look up some settings).

I'm glad it's behaving again. I think you are doing as much as you can with the current Word-Flare list problems. I use FAR to clean up a lot.
Word lists have been broken for years, and Flare does not help by adding the inline styles. I have raised bugs about this before but never got an answer.

Re: Word import: why won't my lists come in properly?
Word lists are a nightmare and not in the least bit intuitive.
In Word, you'll have more luck if you set up one style that uses multi level lists to get the indenting to work in a structured way. Having a separate style of ListBullet2 might look like it is under ListNumber, but Word treats them as ...

Re: How to adjust the header sizing on Top Nav?
In the skin, you have to check a few places, and the combinations could be messing you around.
Look in the skin under Styles tab:
- Main section you can set the maximum width - the default is smallish and I usually make this bigger.
- Header section - Header also has a size setting and padding ...

Re: How to handle manual page break
There is a setting in the Target on the Advanced tab that manages this.
Do you have the checkbox "Use TOC depth for heading levels" set on? If you clear that you might get better results.

This looks a bit like a system problem - often can be fixed by making sure you have the right .NET installed.

Is the indent OK in the generated "doc1"?

We tend to go with option 2 - use conditions. However, our "use case" is a bit different.
We sometimes need a different screen shot for help in our different regions as the fields or wording might be a bit different. But we would only have 2 or 3 images in only a few topics, so this is still easy to ...

Re: Cannot find Language Skins
You probably need to create one first as they are not there by default.
Right-click on "Advanced" and you should get the option to create a new skin. Once created, you can see a table with all the default settings and you can edit the bits you need.

We import documents with tables form Word and apply a table style using find and replace.
Our imported tables come in as:

and we find/replace <table> with <table class="myTableStyle">

Yes, they will be able to configure for CSH. If you already have it for CHM they will have to change the format of their calls, but you can re-use the header and alias files.
