Re: Issue with WebHelp toolbar in HTML Help in Flare 7

Hello Lisa and Dave
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh, some MadCap styles have changed names, you were right, Lisa, what a nightmare...However, this is not what is causing me grief re: this particular issue. I think Dave pointed me towards the right direction. I do not know why I was looking at the ...

Issue with WebHelp toolbar in HTML Help in Flare 7

Dear all
I upgraded to Flare 7 yesterday and also have been experiencing problems with popups (like others on this forum, by the looks of it), I seem to also have an issue with the WebHelp toolbar.
I produce HTML Files with a WebHelp toolbar in every topic.
In Flare 6, my WebHelp toolbar would ...

Re: Standard for calling the help from within an application

Hello both
As usual, very interesting input and digression ( ) from both, very much appreciated. I agree that the Help menu is a must. In my query, I was most interested in how to access the help within a software using shortcut commands.

Standard for calling the help from within an application

Hello everyone
I would like to know if there is a standard (like F1 keyboard key or CTRL + F1) for calling a help system from a piece of software?
I know this is not a Flare question per-se but there is no sub-forum for general Help issues and as we all write help, I thought I would ask my peers ...

Re: MiniTOC formatting

Hi Lisa
Thanks again for your feedback. You were right re:capitalisation. Unfortunately, me correcting the class names did not solve the issue (links in miniTOC bold or in black). I will try and look at the complex selectors, as suggested but I do not use many of these.

Re: MiniTOC formatting

Hello Lisa
Thank you for your reply.
To answer your questions, WebHelp shows a similar behaviour (miniTOC links some bold, some in black) therefore the issue does not seem to be a limitation of the HTML Help format (Shouldn't have posted the thread here  ). Also in both WebHelp and HTML Help ...

MiniTOC formatting

Hello everyone,
I am having fun with my miniTOC proxy in that I do not seem to get the links to display the way I want.
I produce HTML Help and have included a miniTOC proxy to my masterpage.
Depending on the TOC level, the links in the miniTOC of compiled topics appear as shown below.

Re: Context-Sensitive Help & assigning identifiers to bookmarks

Hi Jason
Thank you for your input. The HH files and the alias file match up nicely and some CSH on bookmarks works (but not all of it). As far as the target settings are concerned, I checked them and they seem fine too.
Next step is to check with my developers that I am linking to the correct ...

Context-Sensitive Help & assigning identifiers to bookmarks

Hello everyone,
I am producing HTML Help with Flare and would like to assign some of my identifiers to some bookmarks inside topics. Flare allows me to do this in the alias file. However, when testing the CSH mapping, I realised that none of these were working. I get a "Failed to launch Help ...

Quick update on this.
Of course, Margaret, I am with you re: the script file, sorry  . I searched for occurrences of ehlpdhtm.js and could not find any.
My developers are not keen to remove the offending code (calling a window called "Main") so the only solution I found was to create a skin ...

Hi there
Open your skin and go to the HTML Help Setup tab.
In there, click on the TOC Options... button.
Ensure the Plus / minus squares checkbox is ticked.

Re: Strange happenings when using variables

Hi Gary
I have similar issues as far as capitalisation is concerned. See http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9924&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a for more info.
I think there is definitely a bug here.
I would advise you to open the variable set(s) and the target(s) in a text editor, to ...

Re: Any Robohelp features preferred to Flare's?

I agree with Andrew for the following:

- Image-resizing in Flare causes some blurring for certain formats. I now use a set for my icons/buttons ...

Quick update on this in case other people have a similar issue. I reverted to an old version of my stylesheet (we use source control) without any success so I had to edit the stylesheet manually (a.visited and a.link had disappeared and also I had to add some margin attributes as since we upgraded ...

I have upgraded to Flare v.5.0.1 this morning, straight from v4.2.
Everything seems to have gone ok EXCEPT that all my hyperlinks have been defaulted to the default underlined blue (and default underlined purple once visited). In my project, I have a stylesheet in which I have ...

Just for the sake of anyone else who might read this, I wasn't suggesting that was the optimal method -- I've never really considered caps for my variables (they are all initial caps because they are all proper nouns of some kind). I merely wanted to point out that Flare did not have a problem ...
