Re: Build Terminated - "Writing search entry cache..."

Hi Q2TW,

I think it MAY be related to Partial Word Searching.

If you jump into your HTML5 target then open the Performance tab check the settings for Enable Partial Word Searching .

If it's switched on, it may default to a Minimum Word Size of 3 . As a first check, untick the setting and then ...

Re: Importing directly from SVN repo versus local project

What if you stored the Library project on the server and not in source control? I've seen that recommended elsewhere and it's how we're implementing our GPL project.

Not sure what version of Flare you are using, but if you're on v11, update to the very latest point release (11.1.2) and then re-build.

I laughed. Then cried.

Here's just one link that discusses issues moving from 32 to 64-bit.

Was the correct Medium selected when you modified mc-heading-level=0?
How many CSS files are you using?

Re: Importing "All Files," does not

Craig,

There are two other tabs in the Project Import Editor. You may want to check the Removed Links tab - files listed here are no longer imported.

I have this set to all files set and it works fine.

Re: Cropping Out the Middle (White Space)

In SnagIt it's called Cut Out (it's not Crop - that's a separate function).

I don't have the new Capture installed so I don't know if it has that feature.

Re: Global Project Linking - How to avoid double imports?

1) In the 'big master' project A, set up a condition 'master', and apply that to all files that are shared by all your projects (CSS, page layouts, etc.)

I've been using GPL for a while now and was just wondering why you recommend the above? Is this purely a visual cue for when the files are ...

Re: Flare v10 - Crashes

Although we haven't officially moved over to Flare v10, I am running it quite a bit to do some testing and I've noticed Flare more than v9 ever did (running Windows 8.1 - 64-bit). I'll come across 2-4 crashes per day on my desktop. Unfortunately I can't automatically send error messages as we're ...

Re: Cannot copy files, access denied - Synchronize Function

Have you tried copying the whole project to your local PC, updating the changes to see if it works, then pushing it back to the server? That may give you an indication if it's a problem on the server (i.e., don't always trust IT ;).

Re: v9.1 and Visual SourceSafe Problem

Fixed

@John: I got an email back from Madcap and they said to delete the Analyser and SourceControl folders and then let Flare v9.1 rebuild the cache. This seems to have fixed the issue on the one project I've checked it for. If any further problems arise I'll re-post here.

Thanks both for your ...

v9.1 and Visual SourceSafe Problem

(bug submitted)
This could just be my system, but just letting you know just in case.

FYI, using VSS I've encountered an issue after installing v9.1 where I can check out a project (or files) within Flare but cannot check any files back in. The Check In dialog displays but does not list any files ...

VS SourceSafe and the UserData.fluserzip File

Not a concern, just a query.

Whenever I check a project into visual studio sourcesafe, the UserData.fluserzip file is always listed as a file to check in. Can anyone shed light on why the file always needs to be checked in?

By looking at the contents, it just seems to list the primary target for ...

Is uninstalling the only way to tell if the problem is .NET? Gary, were you having similar issues to mine?

I had minor editor issues, but once support asked about .Net version I immediately went back to 4.0 (from 4.5) and have had no issues since. All I did was remove 4.5 and installed 4.0 (I ...

I had an issue with Flare that was attributed to .net 4.5. After removing that version and installing .net 4 the issues disappeared.

I've been using v9 since its release and haven't experienced any issues like this.

Perhaps a reinstall of Flare (and maybe .net 4) is in order?

I haven't been able to do any tests with square brackets on my system yet, Horchata. Might be better to send in a bug to Madcap or to try it in a sample project first and see if it works there.

If I find out any more info I'll post here.

Just check your Exclude Non-Words From Search setting (see highlight on attached image).

To include angled brackets, etc. in your search, ensure this setting is unticked.

Re: Multi-Monitor support (or lack thereof)

I'm only guessing, but I think QuadraQ is talking about opening one instance of Flare, and floating a file on the second monitor. Thus, when Flare is closed and re-opened, the 'same' files are all opened correctly - it's just that none of them are floating anymore.
