Re: Creating Table Classes

I'm not sure I'm following.

Usually, a class contains styles, not the other way around. When you apply a class to a div or an element you are applying the styles defined within that class.

You can define a class in your stylesheet by using the following declaration:
.class {

Re: Taking over someone else's project

If I were you Crystal I would do the tutorials and build a practice project. You'll learn how to do things properly and when you are finished you will have a test project where you can try things before doing it in your production environment.

If you are unfamiliar with HTML, it would be a good ...

Hi,

This is a peer to peer forum, so unless one of the subscribers has had experience with this you might be better off talking directly with Madcap.

Re: Non TOC topics appear in Search

You can apply an exclude tag to a folder to exclude everything it contains. At least you could, but I don't have access to Flare at the moment to test it. We used to do it to exclude print only topics from online help. (Don't ask, working for local government...)

You could also look at using conditions to specify a different style sheet depending on the language used by your target's audience.

I'm not sure if this would work, but if the Japenese users are using a font that your English speaking users aren't (ie, it's not on their machines) could you use a font family, listing the Japenese font before the English?

Damn. Hoping for a quick fix.

Have you tried setting word-break to normal? W3 schools seem to link keep-all with Chinese/ Japenese/ Korean, so it might be having a funky effect.

I'd also try removing the <col /> tags.

Re: How do I prevent words from breaking in table cells?

I don't have access to Flare at the minute, so I'm going off my (becoming more and more unreliable) memory...

If you select the table in the editor you should see a representation at the top of table width properties. This will tell you if someone has explicitly set the column width. Try to set it ...

Re: Which graphic software are you using?

It depends on what you are doing...

Snagit is popular, but I don't like the previous version (which you need if you are using Windows 10), it's file management is a bit clunky. Snagit has a good torn edge effect and page curl.

Madcap's Capture is good, and it integrates nicely with Flare, but the ...

Re: combining conditional tags problem

Dave's right.

All content is implicitly included in Flare output. If the explicitly include it will overide any exclude conditional tags.

It is worth noting you can apply a condition to a folder, and the condition cascades down through the folder content. If you have print only topics you can ...

From your description you could create a condition for staff and one for customer.

Re: Cannot see styles in the Styles window (of a project)

Hi Irma,

Welcome to the forums :D

Flare only displays the styles that can be applied to the element you have selected in the editor. So, if your cursor is within a paragraph (<p>) the style window should show all the declared styles for paragraphs from your stylesheet. It will also generic styles ...

Welcome to the forums :D

Have you considered applying the conditions to the images?

You can use conditions to say use this image for this output but not the other output.

Edit:
Now I've read your post again I can see I misunderstood. @Psider is on the right track.
