Re: side by side graphics and captions without table

Have you tried using <figcaption>?

Code: Select all

<figure>
    <img src='image.jpg' alt='missing' />
    <figcaption>Caption goes here</figcaption>
</figure>

Re: Text/arrows etc...not showing properly in Flare

It sounds as if something in Flare is overiding the text box size.

Have you tried resizing them at some stage or have you changed something in your style sheet? I don't have Flare/ Capture available at the moment so I'm trying to think rather than having the opportunity to play.

The only thing I can think of is have you installed the latest version of the dotNet framework?

Being as you are using a server are you logged in as an administrator?

Re: Replaced images are now not showing up in output.

The obvious one is caching.

Have you "cleaned" all of the output (Clean Project from the Build group on the Project tab of the ribbon) and cleared the cache on your browsers?

I'd also give your UI guy a slap...

Re: Kind of a dumb question...

Have you checked your style sheet?

From your description it sounds as if there is a generic style being applied. Look for something that starts with a period (.) and includes page break before avoid in its styling.

Re: Copying from one Flare project to another

Welcome to the forums. :D

Yes, you can copy and paste between projects...

There are, however, other alternatives.

If the projects are similar why are there two of them? You can keep the content in the same project and use two masterTOCs to build different content.

You can also use global ...

Welcome!

This, however, is a peer to peer forum and although people from Madcap drop in from time to time, it's not the best place to log bugs or enhancements (although someone in the same position as you might chime in with a work around).

You can lodge feature requests here.

Re: Distortion on monitor

Usual questions:

Have you got the latest video drivers?
Are you using a resolution other than recommended?
Have you got the latest version of dotNet?
Are you running enough RAM for video?

By video I am referring to your video/ graphics card, although it might also be on the motherboard.

You should be able to do this by creating a new target with its own MasterTOC (Which it sounds like you have created).

You could probably get mostly what you want using CSS, but you might have to do it in a text editor. I'm not sure exactly what's available in the Flare editor.

Re: xml Editor tab is showing code

At the bottom of the pane there should be 2 tabs, XML editor and text editor. I'm guessing you are in text editor, which displays content as if you have opened in wordpad or other simple text editor. If you select the XML editor you should see your content with styling elements added.

Have you purged the output folder before you build? That sometimes helps and I make it part of my workflow every time I build.

The command is on the Project tab, in the Build group, called Clean Project.

Re: Delinking ms import document

Save the document and remove the link?

AFAIK it converts the file on import but doesn't try to reimport every time you build. Note that it is trying to save a htm* file, not a doc* file.
