I tend to use snagit, their torn edge and page curl effects suit what we are doing. You can use Capture (or any other graphics program) if you prefer, cropping is pretty basic so they all have it.

Re: Best Practices for Sizing Images and Single-Sourcing
I think one of the issues, particularly for print, is resizing the images and image quality.
We process our images outside of our publishing software and limit the size to 550px, fits our page perfectly. Images are always centred, so smaller images just sit in the middle of their space. And, by ...

Maybe we are reading too much into the default masterpage...
It's exactly that, a default. Usually when a project is created it has one of each of the basics, style sheet, master page and so on. The project will use that masterpage as the default.

No, I think you are seeing the correct behaviour. When, however, you click the thumbnail it should open the better resolution image.

Re: Bad token error in stylesheets
The line the parser refers to is not the line in a text editor but rather the line of actual code.
The error sounds as if there is a missing ; or closing tag. Either that or you are use an ampersand as a selector, &{ }, which should be easy to find.

I'm not sure what you are asking, Bill.
Thumbnails are a reduced resolution image, usually displayed as a smaller image, that is designed to reduce bandwidth and load times for a web page. They should look inferior to a normal image when they are made the same size.

Have tried a find on your style sheet to see if there is another UL declaration? I must admit this seems unlikely as you appear to have posted inline formatting from a topic, which should override style sheet formatting.

I'd try a test run with a plain UL tag. Try removing style="list-style-type: square;" and see what happens.

Re: Font sizes different for different TOC levels?
If we are talking html output the default behaviour for headings is for them to become progressively smaller. It will do this even if you do not explicitly set a font size.
