One of the disappointing things about Capture is the lack of image editing tools.

You will have to edit the image outside of Capture. :(

Re: Removing inherited styles

The styles you are looking at are generic stlyes that people use within spans rather than using inline formatting. So, rather than highlighting text and using the bold button you can highlight the text and apply the em tag. Not much differencr, until the project sponser asks you to change everything ...

Re: Hyperlinks Suddenly Changed to a Funky Color

Hi jbennett,

Welcome to the forums!

Laura and Kevin are right - the links are using the visited pseudo class to change to purple.

You can delete your temporary internet files cache to return the links to blue, or if you don't want them to change to purple you can change the a:visited pseudo class ...

Re: TOC Proxy: How do I make this look right?

What you need to keep in mind is the TOC proxy is used by Flare when creating printed output. If you are creating output via Word (for example) the TOC proxy is where Flare is telling Word to build the TOC, and it's actually Word picking up the heading styles.

Are you trying to create printed ...

Re: Flare and TFS workspaces

I was using Flare/ TFS together in my previous position, and I know what you are going through.

Flare and TFS do play nicely together, once they're properly "introduced". Luckily we had a whizz kid in charge of TFS.

The main trick seemed to be add the project and content files to TFS using TFS ...

Re: One style sheetsheet to rule them all

I maintain a spreadsheet with all my common stuff on it (stylesheet, masterpages, "general" glossary, and so on) so I can keep track of the latest version of my common files.

The beta of Blaze uses a common file mechanism which addresses the need to copy the latest version to your other projects ...

Re: Can't source control .folder.props files in VSS

The props folder is sometimes hidden - if you've set Windows to show hidden files you will see them Have you tried removing the hidden attribute?

Don't know about VSS, but TFS handled the props file alright.

Re: Mass indexing with exceptions

Short answer, no (not thet I'm aware of).

Thinking about it, it would be very hard to automate index creation - that's why there are specialist indexers. Any given index term must occur heaps of times in any project.

That having been said, you can add a feature request here.

Re: Styling glossary links

Open your stylesheet in the style sheet viewer and click the advanced view button to display in advanced view if it isn't already doing so.

Expand a -> GlossaryPageTerm -> (Pseudo Classes) and you should see the classes for active, focus, hover, link, and visited. The font selector should allow you ...

Re: error when trying to preview compiled topics

I've not had it, but standard advice is restart Flare, reinstall the DotNet framework (1 and 2), reinstall Flare to see if any of those fix the issue.

When you say you can't preview the compiled help, does that mean the help file builds but you can't open the chm? If so there are issues with chms ...

Hi ASTeC,

Welcome to the forums.

Unfortunately you'll have to use the find in files functionality.

In case you don't know how:

This searches for the glossary term record, bad choice for an example (I know...)

I can't give you an answer, but I can add an observation...

If you are working on a topic and you are at the bottom of the XMLEditor window, sometimes you get "unexpected" results. Try scrolling down, to move the insertion point closer to the middle of the editor and see if that helps.

I did actually install it for all users. We are not using roaming profiles. Each unique student who logs into the machine is prompted for the key which is not a workable solution, obviously. Shouldn't is have been activated when I installed it?

We have 5 licenses and it is installed on 5 machines ...

You won't have to create multiple images. You can insert the same inage twice and do the mapping in Flare afterwards.

Hi Darryl,

Welcome to the forums. :flare:

Short answer is yes, you can create hot spot navigation in Flare and yes, you can have conditional tags on links.

I haven't tried conditional links on an image. You may have to create duplicate images for each of your conditions.

There may be a way to ...
