Re: Resizing image

Right click the image and select File properties. Then click Format.

You should now be able to set the image height and width for both print and screen.

When you say resize are you asking to make the image physically larger, or change the resolution of an image?

I'd try:

var subject="Feedback from topic: " + document.title;
var body="Feedback from topic: " + document.title + " (" +
window.location.href + ")";
var link = "mailto:" + email

Have you investigated Global Project Linking?

You can keep your common content in a separate project and use it where needed.

Re: Help-PDF output giving error

You can copy

Code: Select all

dir *.* /s /b > projectlisting.txt
to a text file and change the file extension to .bat

Place the .bat (for batch) file in any folder (directory) you want to query and double click it.

Re: Bulleted text jumps to next line

Check the code in the xml editor. I think you might see something like this:

Code: Select all

<UL>
      <LI><P></P>
            <P>List item</P>
      </LI>

</UL>

Re: Table Row Separator Issue

As Rob says, try viewing with standard screen resolution and no scaling.

Does it only do this in Flare? What does your output look like? If it is only in the XML editor can you live with it? Living with it if it is scaling related and doesn't affect output might be an acceptable compromise.

Re: How do I set the column widths in a table?

600px is pretty close to page width. I believe the standard pdf engine uses 72 pixels to an inch.

I set my images to 550px which fills an A4 page with a little bit of extra white space when compared to the surrounding text.

Re: Formatting Issue in Web Layout Unrelated to Style

Does it still happen when you build the project and view the output?

If I were to hazard a guess I'd be looking to see if there is a width property somewhere set to an absolute value. Check your style sheet and inline formatting.

You might want to post the xml for the topic and the style sheet to ...

Re: Existing image sizing

Snagit has batch-processing capabilities you can use to perform an action, including resizing, on all the files in a folder.

When I create images for reuse I like to make them 550px wide during processing. I use cropping techniques, rather than resizing; occasionally if I have to resize I use the ...

Re: Every PDF build I get "You need a PDF Viewer to.."

Is your pdf viewer set as the default pdf viewer in Windows?

If not, right-click a pdf file in file explorer and select open with. Choose your pdf viewer and select always use this program.

You might have to restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

Re: Format number in list style

Flare uses css for styling elements and, as such, you can't do much with ordered and unordered list marker formats.

But... (There's always a but.) ...there is a workaround.

This is an example from W3.org for creating red bullets:

ul {list-style: none}
li::before {content: "•"; color: red}
li ...

I'd try it on a small test project first...

It depends on what you are trying to number...

I think you need to look at Flare's autonumber feature. It allows a numbered sequence to appear across topics, or continue numbering with large amounts of content in between without including the content in a numbered list. It can continue numbering ...

According to W3schools the acceptable property values are:
normal
italic
oblique
initial
inherit

Re: Topics can get incorrectly included in HTML5 output

This has always been a feature of Flare, most people become aware of it and explicitly exclude content they don't want to be included in a build.

If you are unhappy with the behaviour I suggest you lodge a feature request. Maybe a request for "exclude all except explicit include" option or similar.
