Re: drop downs in print

turns out you can condition the drop down tag out. try this code sometime:

<body>
<h2>peace up a town down</h2>
<p> </p>
<MadCap:dropDown>
<MadCap:dropDownHead>
<MadCap:dropDownHotspot MadCap:conditions="Default.ScreenOnly">(This is the Drop-down Hotspot)</MadCap:dropDownHotspot>

Re: drop downs in print

i apparently missed this:

If so, what I would do is, instead of using a dropdown use a Toggler. Togglers work virtually identically to dropdowns, with the exception that the tags don't enclose the content. Instead, you name a tag (like the p tag that the image is included in) then tell the ...

Re: drop downs in print

i just don't want the drop down hotspot text to not display i want the actual contents of the drop down to be displayed however.

my team is debating about using drop downs for the images in our help systems, but considering we use the same content for our printed docs we don't want, image/screen ...

list numbering

Morning,

I was curious if there was a way to assign a value to say, three different li. styles so that when they were in a list they would have different numerical values (see example for clarification, because that sentence is terrible)

Example
1. numberedlist
2. numberedlist
bulleted list item
1 ...

Re: Flare CSS as Word Template

yea, i have been working on our CSS a bunch and have created some very interesting styles for our online help but because we are limited to B&W printed (possibly color docs as a PDF) the styles get a little boring in our word docs. Some of the styles that get brought over look great, list styles ...

Flare CSS as Word Template

I have been working on a condensed CSS based on my companies current word template and I was curious if anyone has gone from using a word created template to just using the styles that the CSS adds to your created printed output.

it seems like it would be easier to maintain just 1 style sheet ...

Re: CSS property for adding text to a style, like "NOTE:"

thanks dan for the reply, anyone have any ideas how to get the hanging indent to work? the team just got on my back about trying to get these silly note/danger/warning gimmicks to work in word outputs.

thanks in advance.

ps - glad the OP got his to work :P

Re: User Defined Content

well, it has been a while, so i will do my best to catch everyone up to where we are:

for one, we scooped up: fckeditor, http://www.fckeditor.com (hopefully madcap doesnt mind the link) this provides the user with a familiar word processor interface to create their UDC with.

then we began ...

Re: MadCamp Advanced....just an idea

if you really pulled off a flare roadshow, you could probably setup small workshops that catered to different users, from first time flare users to users that want to see what kind of scripts different organizations ...

MadCamp Advanced....just an idea

Well, I just got the e-mail notification that MadCamp is going to be held in beautiful La Jolla, Cali July 28th - 31st and it got me thinking (never a good thing) but what if MadCap provided something similar to MadCamp for Flare users who already received the Basic/Intermediate and Advanced ...

Re: CSS property for adding text to a style, like "NOTE:"

i just created a quick word output with my "note" solution and they didnt appear...i guess you could put "Note:" as a conditional snippet inside of the note and have it display in printed documentation only BUT that might be an extra step that was probably trying to be avoided by the OP....

ho hum ...

Re: CSS property for adding text to a style, like "NOTE:"

i did something a little different for this one, when i ran into the same problem (actually i was on another support issue and decided to throw this in) i created an image of "NOTE: " and put it in the background-image tag followed by setting the "repeat" to none then padded the text from the left ...

User Defined Content

Before I start, I know I created a thread about something similar to this, but I wanted to just get some more information about the possibility of adding user defined content to a htmlhelp or webhelp appication. I am pretty comfortable in most situations that require getting knees deep in code, and ...
