Re: Docking panes behaviour seems to have changed
Thanks Mike! Here's the "dockable" and "floating" pane I was talking about.

Re: Docking panes behaviour seems to have changed
I'm running version 4 on XP and have Auto-save option switched on. I think it probably is the same issue as illustrated by Mike. There's definitely something a little buggy going on, at one stage I even had a pane that was set as both "dockable" and "floating". Does that make sense? I wouldn't know ...

Re: Docking panes behaviour seems to have changed
I'm referred to as a "whingeing pom" here in Oz, which is why I'm having a slight whinge about something which isn't really that important - but I'm definitely not imagining it - I always display the Content Explorer above the Project Organiser at the left of the Flare workspace. In both panes I ...

Docking panes behaviour seems to have changed
Anyone else noticed how version 4 does not seem to restore the Content Explorer and Project Organiser panes as you left them? (would be nice too if the splitter bar stayed where you put it when you show folders and files in the same pane). Unless I'm missing something obvious which I didn't pick up ...

Re: Can you use CSH with WebHelp AIR target?
Couldn't MadCap just re-invent .chm files? Give them skins and get around the security limitations etc?

I think what I mean is... a lot of writers don't talk much - even on forums as good as wot this is.

Re: Global Project Linking - How to exclude files in the import
My Tortoise | Svn overlays don'rt show up in Flare either. Idownloaded and registered to use the Pushok plug-in, but couldn't get past an assertion error when trying to use it with Flare. I gave up on it - now I've got used to using Tortoise | Svn independently of Flare.

A comparable product that's better than Flare? It would have to be BLOOOODY good! (Maybe the HATT group aren't very representative of technical writers?).

Re: Global Project Linking - How to exclude files in the import
Yes, I am using Tortoise | SVN (Subversion source control) which uses icon overlays in Windows Explorer!! Tortoise SVN is great, much better than Visual SourceSafe, wish Madcap was able to integrate with it - (but that's another issue which has been raised elsewhere)

Re: Global Project Linking - How to exclude files in the import
Wish I could "see" my linked files. I was expecting to see a link icon alongside files in the Project Organiser and Content Explorer windows, so I could see "at a glance" what files are linked from my Global_Resources project. A link icon IS displayed in the tab of an open file, but why do I have to ...

Re: Can you use CSH with WebHelp AIR target?
As per DotNet Help, another frustrating so-near-and-yet-so-far attempt to come up with a viable alternative to building a .chm file. As per DotNet Help, I can't changethe title caption (ignores the "Installer Settings | Program Title" I entered as part of WebHelp Air options) and the Air ...

Re: Can you use CSH with WebHelp AIR target?
I was about to ask the same question when I saw it had already been posted. My guess is it won't work, but then I'm a pessimist.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. Should be a feature request along the lines of ("I never asked for this, i

Re: Managing source/version control? How're you doing it?
We currently switched to Subversion/Tortoise SVN from Visual SourceSafe (software developers decision of course).
We never integrated Flare with Visual SourceSafe - preferring to check our files in and out independently. Subversion Tortoise SVN is a more user-friendly source control system, but ...

What's the word with Word?
Is it just me, or this error message the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Flare says about Multi-Doc Output on the "Printed Output" tab of the target editor?
ERROR MESSAGE:
"The TOC can not be generated in Word correctly due to chapter breaks in the Flare TOC.
TOC entries are only added to the Word output ...
