Two questions regarding drop-down text:
1. Can I cross reference directly to these? I don't see it when I try to, and am wondering about having to insert a bookmark in order to cross reference to a drop-down.
2. Context Sensitive help: can I link directly to a drop-down, and have it expand ...

Re: indexing: easy way to edit?
Well the joke is on me, thinking I'd be able to index easily in Flare. I did log a bug just now, because it's getting weirder and weirder. Thanks for the support, Lisa.

Re: indexing: easy way to edit?
Clicking once to insert the cursor on the left of the index entry seems to work to open the index terms in the index pane.
I am referring to a weird thing that happens within the Index Entry pane. For example, Friday was sooo slooow, as I would click under Terms in the term I wanted to edit or add ...

Re: indexing: easy way to edit?
Hi Lisa,
I have both the index pane and the index explorer open. What I would like to do is edit the index entry name in the explorer panel, regardless of the topic I am working in. I am working in an index that was created eons ago, in another incarnation of the product and I'd like to be able to ...

indexing: easy way to edit?
I'd like to be able to edit the text of the index items in the explorer window. How fast and nice that would be as a way of getting rid of the mistakes of the past. Too good to be true?

non-breaking variables
Hi, I recall that in FrameMaker I didn't have to worry about variables breaking at the end of a line. Is there any way to prevent a variable from breaking at the end of a line and wrapping to the next? I have a variable that is the product name, N-central, that is breaking on the hyphen. Thanks. tables: how to convert text to a table
1. How do I convert a block of text to a table. Word or FrameMaker have menu items for this.
2. Is it possible to copy and paste a table from word into Flare?
Thanks.

I originally did have
td ul in the css (as opposed to td.ul), which didn't show up in the style editor. It also didn't change the font, but perhaps I just don't get it.

I now assume I just have to format each bullet manually, generate and see what happens. The next question is what will happen when it gets translated. Argh!

Re: table cell bullets
Hi Kevin, the font is returning in Verdana and 12 pt, just like the bullet would if it wasn't in a table cell. The only change is the indent. I use pt only, so I didn't think a complex selector was required.

Thanks Kevin. here's what I have in my css:

margin-left: 2in;
font-family: Verdana;
font-size: 8pt;
font-style: normal;
font-weight: normal;

I want the font size to be 8pt.

That's interesting. Thanks. I'd like to be able to select the text that I want to select. Select, copy or cut and paste quick as a wink.

Yes, generating is a treat. And we can customize our output much better than before.

That worked Kevin, doh. Thanks. Now how do I get it to be 8pts?
Lisa was kind and told me nicely how to get to the next line without pressing enter (pressing shift + enter).
Thanks all.

There is something I am missing here, just exactly how to create a td.bullet style, that will just be adjusted by padding etc when I apply a table style, but won't get overwritten.

Re: table cell bullets
Thanks Dave. The paragraph style tags were what we had originally when we brought everything over from FrameMaker.
We are trying to avoid using paragraph tags which requires individually formatting each table.
