You can have a stylesheet on project level, on target level and on topic level.
If you have a stylesheet on project level you CANNOT assign a stylesheet to topics.

Re: Adding "Home" link to breadcrumbs
Bear in mind the breadcrumbs just reflect your TOC structure; so if you want the 'home' topic to be at the root of your breadcrumbs, just put it as a book topic at the root of your TOC.

With the Home ribbon displayed, select the entire span (double-click for a single word). The class displays in the Style menu of the Styles section.
Well ... two things to say:
1.

The root of that is almost philosophical, because it goes back to the difference between serial content and hypertext content.
As I stated every now and then before: I'm not a friend of mixing things up.
Hypertext content should be "self-sufficient", means: Each topic should give you a portion of ...

You could try adding that link to the masterpage, insert it before the breadcrumb proxy, make it look like the breadcrumb links if you want to and set its "float" to "left".

Files for one index entry always sorted alphabetically?
Hi folks,
I just created an index for my HTML Help. I notice that, whenever there is more than one topic for an index entry, they are sorted alphabetically ... that's pretty crappy.
Do I have a chance to change that order myself?
Does that change in other output formats, e.g. Webhelp?

This looks like there are multiple classes applied to the same "thingy". Could be MC did that for reasons of migration from older stylesheet and/or Flare versions ... smart move, that.

Re: Why are headers and footers showing up in my popups?
You're using the same masterpage for them too.
You need to use a differnet masterpage without header and footer for the popups:
- You generate a class for the html tag (e.g.: html.popup)
- You assign a different masterpage to that class (can't remember how it's called - switch to alphabetical order ...

Do not look at the topic via tag view, but in text mode. I bet you'll find something like this:

Text which is not in the "right place" is not displayed in tag view or the XML editor.

I wouldn't enter the misspelled ones. For the very simple reason of how the index works:

You can adjust the margins and paddings and line-heights if the paragraph is inside a table cell - just generate a complex selector in the stylesheet:
Code: Select all
td p { margin: ... }
