Re: Search Tab Not Working
Okay, so is there any clever way of stopping this happening other than being methodical and checking the search is working before you release? I've just been burnt by it (in Flare v4.0) and it was indeed RegisterItcc.bat that fixed things.

There's a resolution there but it depends on your set up. Some are still having problems.

Re: Flare 4 slower than Flare 3.1
Something else I could add that might help: I have both Flare 3.1 and Flare 4 installed at the same time. I also just looked and I have both .NET 2.0 SP1 and .NET 3.0 SP1 installed. Could two versions of Flare plus two versions of .NET be causing problems. One of our colleagues was getting speed ...

Re: Highlighting specific content for review
I've not found a way to achieve this - however you can 'lock' text that you don't want them to review, so you get the same effect at the end of the day.
Format > Locks > Mark Element to be locked. It sounds like a nice feature request though so I'd add it to that list for Madcap. HTH

Re: Flare v4 & SQL SERVER 2005
Well it didn't chuff my world :lol: but I did check with our DB admin before I went installing stuff (I was just as nervous)! Im running .NET 2.0 and full blown SQL 2005 and none of the stuff (.NET 3.0 and SQL Express) that I've had to install for the Madcap suite has affected anything else *touch ...

Re: Setting up mail
Sharepoint??? That's an overhyped conglomerate of all the not so great Microsoft applications. I can see why companies use it as there is a need for such a tool, but Sharepoint is really horrible and unflexible. We used it based on the bazillion promises that were made, but either it didn't work or ...

Paste Text - now that is nice!
I like the new Paste Text dialog - a lot! It's a huge time and stress saver!
I've not got my largest project into Flare 4.0 yet but all 4 of my smaller ones are now safely moved over and happy in their new home.
Thanks!

That worked! Thank youKevinDAmery wrote:The H3 has a bunch of extra spaces - what happens if you use the same number of spaces as in the H2 style?
I have established that if I have more than one space after the last autonumber, I get these euro signs appearing. They're a bit squashed now.

Re: Weird formatting on my H3 in PDF output
I've checked the H3 in my style sheet - nothing weird there at all. I don't understand which code produces the TOC in PDF, is it somewhere I can find?
These are my H1, H2 & H3 declarations:
h1
{
font-size: 20pt;
font-weight: normal;
border-bottom: solid 1px #000000;
border-bottom-width: 2px ...

Weird formatting on my H3 in PDF output
Hello (again)
I've done something with my H3 style, but I have no idea what! I just tried to publish straight to PDF and it worked perfectly (and the Author no longer says MadCap :D ), but, well, my H3 styles have 3 euro signs in (at least, that's what it looks like anyhow). My H1 and H2 are fine ...

Absolutely. Issue one is a bug in 4.0 which I just happened to stumble across very early on and issue two has been resolved with some tinkering. Phew!

Using columns in Header and Footers
Afternoon (Morning)
I'm getting a bit lost here. I thought I could use columns to separate my header into 1 row, 2 columns, then I was going to put one line of text in the top left corner and one in the top right corner, on the same X axis. However, I can split my header into two columns, but when ...

Re: Setting up mail
This might be a dumb question, but I don't really know what Active Directory is or what connecting to it should do. Does connecting to AD just add in people from the exchange address book to your recipients list?

I think I'd try reinstalling the .Net framework if you haven't done so already. It looks like it's in pain if Flare, Capture and Mimic have all packed up.

Huh? That seems to be a blatant omission. Not everyone is a Microsoft only shop. There are people who use other products or want innovative technology. I am sure that the majority has no AD-email connection, but plain, simple, and reliable mail servers using established protocols.

I am astounded, I really am. What a let down. Not only does it not work, but it crashes Flare trying.
