Problem with Reviewing Topics - not Active Directory email

Flare 4.0 + Outlook 2007 + XP + Email that's not Active Directory = :cry:

My email does not 'use' Active Directory (it is hosted off site), but Flare refuses to let me get access to the "Outgoing SMTP box". As soon as I click "Setup mail" or "Send" it tries to connect using Active Directory and of ...

Awesome isn' it! :D

I'm so impatient, I've been clicking refresh on my email waiting for my maintenance email with the Flare 4.0 link in - even though it's only 5:40am there. :lol: :roll:

Re: Webhelp in Flare works great in Google Chrome

Well I think if they go down that route, they'll kill it. I can't see anyone tolerating a browser with ads whilst the likes of FireFox are about - I certainly wouldn't.

Usability wise, so far, so good. I especially like each tab being a separate process so if one chooses to crash, it doesn't take ...

Re: Webhelp in Flare works great in Google Chrome

Well that's what I want to, however I'm guessing the early adopters of Chrome will be mostly FF users (or alternative browsers to IE) so I doubt they'll tolerate the lack of such add-ons for long. I miss Ad Blocker and No Script although as it's open source I expect someone to come up with the goods ...

Re: Webhelp in Flare works great in Google Chrome

I believe it uses Webkit (http://webkit.org/) for rendering - same as Safari. :) I like it so far, it's very smooth and fast.

Fair point, but yes, I'd rather have a blank field than "Madcap" in there! I have submitted an enhancement request. :)

Re: Sneak Peak Review of Flare 4

Great read, I can't wait for it to be released!

I too have a list pinned to my workstation of post-publishing tasks for printed output... it would be brilliant to be throw that away! The new layout support sounds fantastic as well - it all does! :D

Re: Word / PDF Properties

I agree, and will do. It seems a bit hasty being able to publish straight to PDF when those fields will need changing for anything that walks out the door.

Word / PDF Properties

Morning

Is there any way to specify the properties of the Word or PDF outptut? I've got Word 2007 and whilst I still need to do some post-publishing I was wondering if there was anywhere to set the Word Properties (such as Author) in Flare - currently it always says MadCap until I change it! I've ...

I haven't been able to get the margin top and margin bottom properties to work properly in my printed output, so if you are going to need printed output, you will need to find another solution (my solution is to do post-processing to add extra space after a table).

Me neither :(

Has anyone else ...

*Bump* in case someone else has this problem and ends up here.... A very similar error is displayed when you loose your Primary Target. I have no idea how I lost my Primary Target but it caused this error when I pressed F6 (giving me mild heart attack in the process) :shock:

I had "padding: 2px;" in my main style sheet table declaration and it was overidding my header table. :wink:

Strange little line

Morning

I'm trying to add a header to my documents which are output to Word. The header is simply a table with one row, two columns and text on the far left and far right, but I'm getting a little blip in the horizontal line where the column separator is (see below):

Re: Creating a style with an image

i don't know if it's possible (since i haven't tried this div), but can you float the image left?

I don't know, I'm out of css depth I'm afraid. It looks okay, but not great, it would look better without the word "Warning" now the image is in place but of course I can't get rid of that as then it ...

Re: Creating a style with an image

I'm not sure, I appear to have accidently achieved a half decent result with:

Code: Select all

	padding-left: 100px;
	text-indent: -100px;
Which is possibly a bit of a hack. :oops:
