Re: Looks like I'll be on VISTA sooner than I'd intended
Great advice all round there - and yes, it is all about change. I just didn't want this much change so close a release! I'll let you know how I get on.

Re: Tables splitting across pages
Thanks - I've already got that setting but I've still got a vast amount of post-processing to do in Word. I can't wait for Blaze, I even dreamt about it the other night.

Re: Looks like I'll be on VISTA sooner than I'd intended
Gosh  Well - I'll be keeping my old system at least (I hope)... with a new hard drive, as its current one is definitely not very well. I imagine I can just remove vista and stick XP Pro back on the new one (and the old slower one) when it irritates me too much. I will probably be doing much ...

Re: Looks like I'll be on VISTA sooner than I'd intended
QBF!!
Right, note made, no updates! I'll be putting a new HDD in my old machine and cleaning it so I can use it for the application I'm documenting whilst keeping all critical stuff on my new, less vulnerable, and faster machine.

Re: Looks like I'll be on VISTA sooner than I'd intended
Good point on the screenshots, I think once I have my new environment up and running I will see if I can keep and reformat my old one and partition it so I can have the best of both worlds (hopefully). Then if the hard drive dies again, it's no big deal but it's useful all the same.

Looks like I'll be on VISTA sooner than I'd intended
I appear to have killed my XP work computer - and it is refusing to be brought back to life. As such I will soon be the owner of a new Vista machine.
So whilst I'm rebuilding my environment - are there any Flare (and the rest)/VISTA/Word 2007 gotchas that I should be aware of? Or will things run ...

Re: Background images not displaying
Hmm, okay, that's not working as well as I thought. There's a repaint problem if the page is longer than the height of the skin. It paints another image bottom right when you scroll down but doesn't remove the first one until you force a repaint by resizing the window. Does anyone know a way around ...

Solved it!
Erm - how can I get it to anchor to the bottom right of my skin window though? Not solved that yet.

Background images not displaying
I'm trying to add a faint image as a background to anchor bottom right to my CHM window. I'm putting it in the <body> on my stylesheet, but it's not showing up in the preview. I have tried numerous other images in my project and every single one shows up just fine, except the one I want! It is the ...

Tables splitting across pages
Morning
I'm publishing to Word and using a table css to style my tables. This is all good except my tables keep splitting across pages when I publish (leaving two rows on one page and the rest on the next page for example). Is there anything I can add to my table CSS to make them behave? I found ...

Re: 2003 & 2007 in parallel & Flare
I'm 98% sure you can install 2003 and 2007 in parallel if that helps. Just click the "Custom" install and there's an option in there apparently (others have got it working).
However I've decided not to upgrade just yet given that the only advantage would be direct publishing to PDF and I have to ...

Re: 2003 & 2007 in parallel & Flare
Thanks for your reply. The only reason I want both versions is I don't particularly like the interface in 2007, hence I want to keep my trusty 2003 near by for now!

2003 & 2007 in parallel & Flare
Morning
Has anyone sucessfully installed Word 2007 in parallel with Word 2003 and used Flare to publish to both Word 2003 or Word 2007 (straight to PDF). Is this even possible? Apparently it's possible to install 2007 and keep the 2003 install, but how does this affect Flare? If I had 2007 ...

Hmm okay, I've solved one problem (user error) - and it is does appear to be excluding both version 4.0 and the images so that's good. Although I still don't understand why it says or instead of and.

Good afternoon
I'm getting horribly confused. I want to be able to exclude mode than one snippet from a Target, however with each click of the Exclude (or Include) checkbox, Flare decides I want to exclude A or B rather than A and B.

Re: How do I package to send to a translator?
Okay, little thread bump rather than start a new one. As I understand it, Lingo now exports TMX files and my translator will know what to do with these... This is all well and good, but when I go to export a TMX, my list of of "Languages to export:" is strangely empty. I'm sure it used to have ...

Re: Attempt to rename topics causing error
Is it just one topic it's happening with or all?
I'm sure I've had that error before - or at least one very similar. I tracked it down to a hex character in my text (found it in the source code view as a little square). Obviously it wasn't valid XML and thus Flare didn't know what to do with it ...

Re: Some beginner questions
Thanks for the replies! The problem I've got is I have to translate the CHM for a customer - however I doubt very much our chosen translator will have Lingo so I'm trying to work out where this leaves me. I have all 3000+ topics needing translation and then I obviously need to build it afterwards to ...
