Re: Vertical text in a table header?

Boo, that referenced web site is long since gone now :( Any chance you still have a copy of the styles you implemented? I'd be keen to see how this was achieved.

Cheers,

Slanted table headings in PDF output using CSS transforms

I can use CSS inside a style sheet to produce a slanted table heading like this:

slanted_header.png

To achieve that effect I used the following CSS:

th.skew {
height: 100px;
width: 40px;
position: relative;
vertical-align: bottom;
-webkit-transform: skewX(-45deg);
-webkit-transform ...

Re: Page layouts broken in v7.1

No. For the record, I tried all the following obvious things:

Creating a new PageLayout
Copying the XML from the plaintext view of an existing one into another new one
Editing the content of the headers in existing ones
Removing content completely, saving, then readding
Bringing in a PageLayout ...

Page layouts broken in v7.1

I've just now installed the 7.1 update for Flare and immediately noticed that my headers in page layouts no longer display.

If I edit the page layout document my header looks like a filled grey box, rather than the SVG logo and header text that used to appear. Hitting F2 to edit the header displays ...

Re: Flare and GIT

Hi Andrew. Unfortunately I never found a solution to using an in-Flare UI GIT management piece of software.

I've just learned to use GIT at the command line and check my docs in and out manually. Not ideal for those of us used to the GUI environments of TortoiseSVN and the like.

I hope your GIT ...

Re: svg images

@wbrisett Sorry if I wasn't clear before, but I'm not using Visio whatsoever to create my SVG images.

I started off using Inkscape and suffered the problem. Using your suggested Scribus workaround solved the issue for all but one of my images: all the lines in my diagram appear as dashed rather ...

Re: svg images

I can, in the meantime, confirm that wbrisett's suggestion of using Scribus and Ghostwrite does work but is a rather laborious process.

Hopefully nobody thinks I'm trying to pull April Fool's here! :)

Re: svg images

I'm suffering this issue with SVG images saved from other applications. I've been using Inkscape, an opensource alternative, and it too is displaying oddly in the editor and in the PDF output.

The frustrating thing is that the errors in the image are not consistent between the editor and the output ...

Re: Flare and GIT

Meanwhile, I've been using Git Extensions which is a pretty neat GUI for using Git. It's not integrated with Flare in any way, but it does present a pretty decent interface to use Git with and allows me to forget all those nasty command line entries I'd otherwise need.

I originally had some ...

Re: Flare and GIT

Wil, I spent an hour or so using the PushOK plug in and it's as broken as I had feared it would be.

*** FULL DISCLOSURE ***
To be fair to PushOK, the only version of the plug in they have available is a release candidate, and they don't list Flare as one of their supported platforms. Also, I'm no ...

Re: Flare and GIT

Hmm, actually it seems PushOK do actually provide a Git plug in: http://www.pushok.com/soft_git.php

I've had shaky experiences of their SVN plug in in the past but, as I've posted on these forums in the past, I've eventually got it working.

I might spend some time with the trial version to ...

Re: Flare and GIT

Hi Wil,

Did you ever get anywhere with Git in Flare? My developers have all moved across from SVN to Git and, in the interests of being a team player, I'm keen to follow suit.

I've done some searching this morning and found only Visual Studio plug ins, but nothing generic (like TamTamSVN or PushOK ...

Re: Multiple VSS Errors with Flare 6

You can either get a plugin like PushOK (I believe there is another, but can't seem to find the thread where it's mentioned at the moment)

That would be TamTamSVN which, in my view, is superior to PushOK: http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/tamtamsvn/

My company bought PushOK licenses which is ...

Re: Subversion source control question

Daz, glad you're seeing the same results as me. 6.1 is required in order to get this working correctly.

SDerrick, if you've got 6.1 I'm hopeful that it's all started to work you as well. As for your other query, I can confirm that I have successfully moved projects around in my SVN repositories and ...

Re: Binding existing Flare projects using PushOK SVN plug-in

My main concern now, as several other people have also indicated, there seems to be some serious flakiness about managing content (moves, renames, etc). I've failed to find anything that describes a robust way to manage this. Can anyone point me to such a thing?

Andrew, you're absolutely right ...

Re: Binding existing Flare projects using PushOK SVN plug-in

Folks, just a note to say that the 6.1 patch resolved the issue I was originally facing with using the PushOK plug in with v6. I can now confirm that Flare v5 and v6.1 both work (for me) following the above procedure.

Meggs - did you ever find a solution? I've not used v4 for some time now so I can ...

Re: PushOK, SVN and Flare 6

Flare 6.1 seems to have sorted my problems, for the most part. I still get the occasional weird error message, but they're at least consistently weird as compared to previously.

Good work, MadCap.

Re: Multiple VSS Errors with Flare 6

As we actively pursue the causes of these issues, has anyone Imported a new project in V6 and imported the problem projects from the Source Control?.

If I understand you correctly, you're asking if I've ever tried the Import From Source Control option from the File > Import Project menu.

Re: Subversion source control question

Jeff,

To my knowledge all the bind does is tell Flare where in SVN the repository is and the name of the module for the project you are currently work on.

I'd recommend adding everything from within Flare yourself. I do this by selecting all the files (including stylesheets and other project ...

Re: PushOK, SVN and Flare 6

Just installed Tam Tam and wish I'd seen it first.

PushOK worked fine for us in Flare 5, but just doesn't at all in Flare 6. The Tam Tam eval demo was completely seamless :(

I managed to talk my boss into the purchase request for PushOK. I doubt I'll wrangle another one so soon.
