Cannot select CSS

I imported a project from FrameMaker to Flare 5.
I mapped the Frame styles to my own CSS, and chose to detach the Frame topics from the Flare project.
Now I'm hard at work in Flare and I'm finding a couple of odd things:

1. I cannot select a CSS from the topic Properties. The CSS drop-down list is ...

Re: Several master pages

Lisa,

I seem to have resolved my own problem. It's amazing what a good night of sleep can do for problem solving. :)

On the target's Advanced tab, I did the following:

1. I selected a Master Page setting of OnlineHelp.
2. I changed the Stylesheet Medium option from "(default)" to "non-print ...

Re: Several master pages

Lisa,
Thank you for your prompt reply.

Here are the answers to your questions:
1. I am trying to create one WebHelp output with a mix of footers (using two different master pages).
2. On the target's Advanced tab, I set the Master Page option to "(default)".
3. Each time I generate the target, I ...

Re: Several master pages

I am using Flare 5.0. I am incorporating some of our company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) in with our normal WebHelp Plus content. I want all of our traditional online Help topics to have one page footer, and all of our online SOPs to have a different page footer.

Here is what I’ve ...

Re: Background colors not showing

Kevin,
This worked. Thanks for the link to the procedures.
Actually, about six months ago, I used this procedure with another project.
And then promptly forget I had done it...
A clear case of "use it or lose it," or perhaps more evidence of my wife's theory that I am slowly losing my marbles ...

Yes. One master page for my web layout.
Is the master page overriding my new body class?

Background colors not showing

I am using Flare 4.2.1.

I have an HTML Help project in which I want certain "reference" topics to have a different background color than the procedural topics. The default topic background color is white. So I created a new BODY class for the reference topics, so they will have a gray background ...

Re: Tables in Word losing their padding

I've found a solution.
I already had a complex selector for my online tables.
I just added some print medium settings to the same selector:

td p
{
margin: 0.75em 1em 0.5em 0.75em;
}

This pads the cells in Word output. The Word tables now look good wherever I've applied a "p" style within a ...

Re: Tables in Word losing their padding

I removed the table style and sure enough the empty paragraphs went away. So that answers that.

The only real change I noticed after upgrading was the degradation in the table padding. My tables didn't look so bad before. I had to make some other corrections, but the padding was OK. Is this ...

Re: Tables in Word losing their padding

Paul,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

In version 3.1, my Word output used to look a lot better (but never perfect). Some cleanup was always required. But ever since I took the 4.+ upgrades, the tables have looked like this. I switched to PDF, and everything looks great. But we may have a need ...

Re: Tables in Word losing their padding

And one more thing...
Can someone explain why Word adds the extra paragraphs above and below my tables?
Is it Word's way to create the necessary spacing?
Thanks again,
-John

Tables in Word losing their padding

The tables in my Word output are losing their padding.
Here is an example.

This is not the case in my WebHelp and PDF versions, as shown here.

Is there a simple way to solve this problem?
As always, thank you in advance for your assistance.

Re: Page breaks within togglers

Lisa,

Thank you for your comments.

Based on your advice, I created a div class called div.pagebreak with a page-break-before setting of "always". After applying it to the appropriate toggler <div> tags, the print output page breaks occurred exactly as I wanted them to!

Thanks again,

Page breaks within togglers

I am making frequent use of togglers in my online Help. For my print output, I'm starting each corresponding toggler topic with a conditional print h3 heading. These h3 topics are always the first line within the toggler division <div>. My topic structure looks like this:

<h3>What do you want to do ...

OK. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now.
I just reread the thread and realized I didn't have a designated Primary Target.
Once I assigned one, the Preview worked immediately.
Hooray!

Re: Preview won't run

I'm having this same problem with Flare 4.0.

So far, I've reinstalled Flare and I've opened the project by navigating to it "the long way" rather than by using the desktop shortcut.

I'm willing to uninstall, edit the registry, and then reinstall, but I'll need some guidance to do so. Can someone ...

Robo import error: Length cannot be less than zero

Many of our projects were done with RoboHelp (I'm using RoboHelp HTML X5.0.2).
I'm trying to import some of these projects into Flare. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't, and I get the following error: "Length cannot be less than zero."
I don't want to sound nasty, but this type of GUI ...

Applying conditional snippets within togglers

Is it possible to apply different conditions to a snippet, when that snippet is within several different togglers in the same topic? Or are conditions to snippets restricted to the entire topic?

For example, I have a topic with multiple togglers. Several togglers refer to the same table. I want ...
