After my upgrade, Flare 12 was applying the font color in my page layout footer frame to the background color (the header frame was not affected). I found no way to correct the problem using the GUI, so I had to edit the page layout in plain text to apply the style correctly.

403 Forbidden. Protocol Error with Google Translate API
I'm brand new to Lingo. I searched the forum and did not find anyone else with a similar issue.
I'm attempting to do Machine Translation with the Google API. After about 800,000 translated characters I got the following error for all my requests:

My tri-pane project in Flare 11.1 has only 1 CSS file; after the @import rule I added

djohnson,
I applied this setting at the top of my CSS sheet and it fixed the hover over issue in our webhelp. Thanks for the advice!

Re: Deleted Files Still Show Up
I know this question is a few weeks old, but I thought I would throw my two cents in. What I have encountered in Flare 9, 10, and now 11 is Flare's inability to handle multiple file/folder actions prior to a commit. If I were to move a folder and then delete a few files from the folder prior to ...

I've sent this off to a few Flare User's in Omaha. It would be nice if we had a Flare User's Group here, as I know several around.

You can also use WinDirStat for more information on your directories. Very useful if you're looking to see how your projects and files sizes are growing.

Re: Using SVN - value for "server"
Oceanclub,
Does your company use Visual SVN? If you can get the url to the visual SVN server, it is the same URL that Flare needs. Does your url need a port number? My svn server is on port 8443, so my url looks like:
https://[server name]:8443/[folder names]

2 questions: Controlling Returns and List Numbering
Question 1 - Controlling returns.
Is there a way to control the style behavior when I press return? When I enter a return after a heading, Flare automatically switches from the Heading style to the paragraph style. How can I set up other styles to behave the same way?

Yes, it makes sense. I can make it look exactly the way I want it in Webhelp, but this is how the <p> row displays in PDF (the second shaded row):

Re: Can't set max width for <img>?
Is the screenshot you included from a specific image's Properties screen? I'm assuming it is. The grayed out fields don't become editable until you change the (default) drop-down for that property to length or one of the other options.
However, if you want to all images in the project to have a ...

Deleting Rows in Flare, Where did my formatting go?
I have an issue in all of my table style sheets. I need to highlight specific rows in my table, so I created a new class called 'td.highlighted.' I select the whole row and give it this style.

Can't set max width for <img>?
Kind of an odd-ball issue. I'm trying to clean up a Flare project someone else created as well a create a PDF target. Nearly all the images are too large for the page, but the width settings in the style sheet are dithered. I can edit anything else in the stylesheet except for these settings. What ...

Re: Change bars: Are they available in Flare?
The process we use takes a little longer to set up initially, but once the styles are created it is a pretty simple system to use.
First, we create a second style for every element in our stylesheet called 'x.x_new.' For example, a new paragraph would be called 'p.body_new, a new graphic would be ...

Ramone,
I certainly won’t argue with you. You obviously have good reasons for disliking Windows 7 . I will however offer my own experience where it differs from yours.

Re: Windows 7 (64-Bit)
I strictly recommend against Windows 7. It is the second worst Windows version ever (the worst one is Vista). Unfortunately, using proprietary, .NET based software like Flare doesn't give you any choice. So you have to deal with an utterly dysfunctional OS that gets an F- for usability.

Changing the Index Proxy format
Group,
I'm trying to make two changes to my index proxy, but I can't find where in the style sheet to do so.
