Good afternoon, all.
We are using a JavaScript on our CHM contents page to display the date modified of the file, so we can make sure we are testing the latest release (this probably won't be shipping out). Our Documentation computers are not having any issues (XP Home SP2), but two of the QA ...

Re: Topics can't be displayed when CHM moved
The other problem we ran into while distributing is that Vista doesn't like those registry entries at all, so won't display topics even if you do override the registry. We were working with Microsoft via e-mail and were told that this would be "addressed", but not explicitly how or when.

Re: Command line build causes window of HTML help incorrect
I have tried this as well, and had the same result. We have our files set to build 800 x 600 windows in the center of the screen, but using the command line it does not recognize this size and instead builds much smaller (300 x 150 possibly) in the top left of the screen. We normally build without ...

Re: Compiling DotNetHelp into a single file
That was our original thought, but the size of the program files, help files, multimedia, etc, makes it so updating all of the files at once problematic (it could take 20-30 minutes if a user only has a 10MB LAN with lots of traffic). We are currently creating an index on the workstation that ...

Re: Compiling DotNetHelp into a single file
I'm referring to version control on our installation program, not on the source control in Flare.
Our data files and main installation programs are installed on a single server, and a client set of programs, help files, etc are installed on the workstation. When the program runs on the workstation ...

Re: Popups within popups
Ok, I've investigated this quite a bit. It appears that the only way this is going to work is using some frame detection method to determine if the calling document is the top document or not. The problem being, that using target=_Popup automatically inserts Flare's popup javascript call. In order ...

Re: Compiling DotNetHelp into a single file
I agree, and have made this suggestion as well. We are currently stuck with HTML Help for our help distribution, due to Vista compliance and version control necessity, but would gladly update to DotNet Help if it was compiled into a single file. It is just too hard to do version control for hundreds ...

Re: missing : Copyright / Registered Trademark symbols
Did you use the Unicode code for the symbols, or use what was imported? Use © for copyright and ® for registered trademark. They work in non-Word content, so I'd assume they would work for you as well. You may need to do a Find/Replace in the sourcecode to get them corrected if they are not ...

Re: Want to change "HTML Help" title (as viewed compliled)
I have had the same problem. It seems that if you just change one field and save, it does not recognize the change. Tab or click out of the field, and an asterisk will show next to the file name on the title bar. Saving will then take effect. I reported it as a bug soon after I began using Flare.

Popups within popups
I'm encountering an issue with popups that I'm hoping can be corrected. In our previous Help (.hlp) project, we had some topics that called other topics as popup. Many of these can be opened as a base topic, or as a popup itself. If they were a popup, those new topics would replace the existing ...
