You can attach the file to a bug report submitted at http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx.
But should I?

How do I know if these are really my mistakes -- or something Flare is doing that I simply don't know about?

Am I making sense here?

Re: Word doc output backwards

Flare Bases the Printed output on your TOC, so if the TOC is wacky, then your printed output is going to be Wacky!

I fixed the TOC in both my Parent and Child projects, but the project is still being output backwards in Word. What's up with that?

I also received a bunch of error messages that I ...

Re: Word doc output backwards

I think I got it. The TOC order may have been fouled. Didn't matter in RH. Maybe it does in Flare.

Word doc output backwards

This error is so odd it is amusing, especially one hour before COB on a Friday.

I printed my project to Word. I elected to View Output and discovered the document as output is exactly backwards.

The last page is the title page. The first page is the very last page.

How would I reverse that?

If ...

That I believe. I was fixing links like crazy. I could easily have missed one. Thanks for the tip.

Error when trying to build project

I was trying to build a project that contains a merged project. We're talking parent/child here. This is the error I received:

I have no idea what this means. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Unlinked book in Browse Sequence Editor

What is that little red icon for an unlinked item supposed be, anyway? It looks kind of like a tick. And yes, it was driving me crazy. I am picky and detailed by nature, so that had to go.

Re: Unlinked book in Browse Sequence Editor

Is the book itself linked to a topic? If not, that's why the exclamation point is there.

Well, no. It isn't. That's how I set it up in RoboHelp. I am more than willing to do things the Flare way. When in Rome....

So, pray tell, how do I go about removing the book without removing the underlying ...

Unlinked book in Browse Sequence Editor

I have an unlinked book in my Browse Sequence Editor. This is what it looks like:

Virtual Genesys User Guide Browse Sequence.png

It is an imported sequence, so I rebuilt it. I dragged over from the Content Editor all the topics I need and relinked them all. The red mark still won't go away.

Any ...

Re: Problem linking TOC topics

Yeah, that's a bug. I just did a quick test, and you're right -- when you left-click on a file, its name doesn't appear in the File Name field. But, if you select the file then click Open, it will indeed create the link to that topic. So you can link topics using this method, just realize that the ...

Interesting. This method seems to be working. Flare does not seem to like linking the imported TOC topics, but it will link the clicked and dragged topics.

Re: Problem linking TOC topics

Are you only having this problem with the RH imported topics, or with all topics?

Almost all topics are imported from RH. The short topics are imported from Word and have no TOCs.

If it's happening for every topic, could you tell us exactly what steps you're using? If you are missing a step or ...

Re: Problem linking TOC topics

I was originally trying to get rid of the red marks that mean I have unlinked items in the TOC.

I was following the instructions for linking TOC items, but I can't seem to get those directions to work.

I must be missing something.

I do not get an error when I try to open them. They simply won't open. When I click on the page, the page won't appear in the FIle Name box. Yes, I can view the pages in a regular web browser.

Re: Problem linking TOC topics

I can find them, but they won't open. I don't understand this. The main topics won't open and neither will the individual pages. It's like RH topics and pages are not recognized by Flare, or something like that.

Select the TOC entry or book.
In the local toolbar of the TOC Editor, click . The Properties dialog opens.
Click Select Topic. The Open File dialog opens, displaying all the topics in your project.

How to import child RH project into parent Flare project

I have a RoboHelp project that I merged into another RH project.

The merged or child RH project became a topic within the parent RH project when the main project was published. Each has to be maintained separately.

I imported the parent RH into Flare. No problems thus far. I would like to import ...

Sounds a bit strange.

When you add a new destination and select either Factory Templates or My Templates , it'll show the Source File to the destination file template.

E.g. on my PC the factory template is:

Lost the default Destination Templates

In one of my projects, in the Destinations folder, I right-click for the Add Destination window.

Under Template Folders, I see "Factory Templates" and "My Templates."

My Template is empty.

Factory Templates was empty. I somehow put in a template called MyDestination. I don't remember how I did ...
