How about to Web Help?
Thanks,
Roger

Re: How can I add an Index btn to Topic Toolbar?
Dave, thanks for the code--it works great with one exception: the single quotes should be double quotes.
Here it is again w/ dble quotes [if they don't get lost in fourm-translation.
window.location.href("../Resources/Index.htm");

It looks like it was an en-dash. (Still English, though.)

Re: contains non-English characters
Thanks RamonS,
That solved it. No more Warning messages. I removed both the space and the hyphen from the file name. I suspect it was the hypen since other file names have spaces in them.

contains non-English characters
After building HTML Help, I got the following waring on six of the ~30 topic files:
Warning: The filename ["Edit–Data Tab.htm"] contains non-English characters. It is advised to set the system locale to match the language that the filenames are saved with.

Re: How can I add an Index btn to Topic Toolbar?
Thank you. I'll give it a try.
When I am in a topic, I see the grey bar at top with the HOME button in it. I'd call it a toobar, but if I can't add a button there, it sounds like there may be another Toolbar that displays? (I guess I'll find out.)

Re: How can I add an Index btn to Topic Toolbar?
Thanks, Dave, but . . .
You don't need to create your own, there is already a button to do that - add the SelectIndex button.
I don't see such a button available for the WebHelp-MOBILE. (I may have failed to mention Mobile since this is the WebHelp Mobile forum.) I only see six items under ...

How can I add an Index btn to Topic Toolbar?
I would like a button in the topic toolbar just like the HOME button, but points to the Index page. Is that doable? I see the ADD A CUSTOM TOOLBAR BUTTON in the Mobile skin editor. It looks like I would need some JavaScript!
Also, which of the two Index.htm pages do I point to:

Re: FrameMaker Aborts- Invalid character
Yes, I've tried to do a search, as I mention, and FM doesn't recogize the character as text. However, I did get the next chapter to import and it doesn't have any bullets (via Bullet para tag) in it, so maybe that's the problem.

FrameMaker Aborts- Invalid character
When importing a FrameMaker [8.0] book into Flare [6.1] as a new project, it aborts with error message: '', hexadecimal value 0x15, is an invalid character. In the Errors dialog > Subsystem column > Frame Importer (Internal Error). The error occurs just after finding the last Filename Marker in ...

How do I import FLV created via FLASH?
How do import my FLV and related output files from Adobe's Flash into Flare? The Flash output is 5 files: my FLV, the .SWF skin, the .HTML, and another FLV and another SWF. I'm using Flare 6.1 and Flash CS4 on Win XP. I'm creating WebHelp.

Re: How do I change the Start Topic
Okay. Maybe that's right—maybe I don't need the features supplied by the Mobile output. I have a video in each topic page and assumed that they would be resized to fit the mobile devices. Is that not true?
I guess my other option, is to create a TOC instead of using my Welcome page.

How do I change the Start Topic
In Flare 6.1, Windows XP, how do change the opening screen in Webhelp Mobile output. All I get is a blank ABOUT page (with the WEB HELP MOBILE heading). I'm using the DfltMobileSkin but I've deselected TOC, Index, Search, Glossary and Browse check boxes in the skin properties. I've also deselected ...

Re: Search Tab Not Working
Today, July 1, 2010, I installed Flare update 6.1, Windows XP, and now my SEARCH TAB DOES NOT WORK. It finds no word at all. This Help project had worked prior to this update. I have HTML Help outputs from before and after (6.1 update).

Dave's suggestions didn't work for my WebHelp project.

Thanks, SteveS, for the work-around instructions.
Do you know where I can find Flare Update 5.1? The latest I see on the Flare PATCHES page (http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/default_Le ... adCap-Skin ) is 5.0.

I am inserting a Flash SWF file created in Captivate 4 with one of the skins supplied for the desired playback controls. Then I use the Insert Picture command in Flare 5.01.
