Re: Excluding text w/ links in a Child project
whunter, good clarification. I momentarily forgot.
I have added the CarA condition in my Child Project, set the target to exclude it. It didn't work. However, I see now that my condition groups are different. My Child condition is Product.CarA and the Source the condition is Primary.CarA . Maybe ...

Re: Excluding text w/ links in a Child project
In the Source Project I have some paragraphs tagged for CarA and other paragrpahs for CarB within the same topic. (This is true for many topics.) For the Child import-file settings, I have included CarB and excluded CarA. In the Child project, the topic contains both. If you are saying that the CarA ...

Thanks, Nita, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
I have only one Child project target and CarA condition is excluded and it still appears in the HTML (CHM) output.

Re: Excluding text w/ links in a Child project
I am doing global project linking (importing files from a master (I call Source ) project into another project (I call Child ).
As I tried to state, I can exclude condition CarA from importing into the Child project. However, it only excludes whole topics (e.g., Troubleshooting.htm). It does not ...

Excluding text w/ links in a Child project
I have a Child Project with a topic that has one paragraph that doesn't apply to this product (CarB). Although the Source Project has this paragraph conditionalized (CarA-only) and my import process says to exclude CarA-only, it still appears in the Child Project, which MC Support tells me is by ...

Is there a way to edit source file in child project?
When I'm in a topic linked to a global source project, is there an easy way to open the source file and edit it?
I have had two Flare Apps open to do this. But maybe there's a better way.

Re: Can't reset css properties back to default
I discovered that Flare doesn't like the 10.5 pt. font-size setting. All bold font appears 11pt. But if I change the (p.) para font to 10 pt., bold is also 10 pt.

Re: Can't reset css properties back to default
I just checked the output and it looks OK (all the same size). I pasted it into Word and it's all 11 pt. So, at this point, my conclusion is that it is both things you suggested, an inheritance from somewhere and a Flare XML bug. I'll let you know more when if I discover more. Thanks for your help.

I'll recheck the 'default' medium; maybe I've missed something.

Re: Can't reset css properties back to default
Also, when I try to delete p.classes or span.classes from the stylesheet sheet, it won't allow me and says '...cannot be removed since it's inherited and not defined in this stylesheet. Re: Can't reset css properties back to default
Thanks, LTinker68. However, I've tried setting all the targets to new stylesheet and some properties just seem to not be affected, like the b character tag to make text bold. Even though the font-size for b is set to < not set > it still changes to 11 pts. ( p is set to 10.5). I've tried changing ...

Re: Can't reset css properties back to default
Okay. I see. Now this gets complicated. I do have two stylesheets in this project and the primary target uses the other stylesheet (not the one I'm tweeking). However, this is a Single-Source-only project that I intend to import files from when I create my new project.

Re: Can't reset css properties back to default
My Stylesheet is set to Non-Print (as are my topics). I checked the stylesheet in the internal text editor and the styles in question are listed under the @media non-print . So something else is unhappy. (There is only one style listed under @media print and it is for an xref.)
Thanks for thought.

Can't reset css properties back to default
Is there a reason why the CSS properties for a p tag or a div tag don't stay where I set them? I set a div tag font-weigh t property to Bold—works fine. Some time later, when I reuse the Stylesheet in another project, and set the font-weight back to <default>, it won't change.

Shortcut keys-- How?
With Flare 9 (on Windows) I've been unsuccessful using Flare's Keyboard Shortcuts (which I think is the same a 'Hotkey'). (I use the Ribbon.) I can insert a Text-Only Popup, for example, successfully one in 9 tries and don't know how it worked that one time. I've tried ALT +PU , ALT + N PU , and ...

Can I set a TOC entry's state when Help is opened?
I have a TOC entry linked to the Browse Seq. file (for the sole purpose of making it easy for customer to print the entire Help). I'd rather not have this entry open showing a list of every page in the Help when the Help opens initially. No matter how deeply embedded it is in book-levels, it still ...

Thanks, Solena. It's been long enough now that I don't really remember how I handled it but think it was the former—putting the files where they belong. Am not sure what you mean by
