Process for SS-ing from Existing Project
Can someone suggest a good process for me? My existing project is for Product 1 and it has three variations, 1A, 1B, 1C, each a conditional output. I need a new Help file for new Product 2. It currently has no variations but I do expect some in the future. About 20% fo the topics in the existing ...

Re: Adding a TM (translation Memory)
I've discovered answers to these Qs (V 5).
1. I think that Importing the TMX automatically saves the Tranlation Memory (I assume to the SQL Server db).
2. Support tells me the SQL Server needs to be on the local drive (where Lingo is). If it was not already installed, you can install it after ...

Can I import/merge 1 or 2 files into project
I have a zip file from the translator who does not have/use Lingo. If I don't want to merge all the files, just a few, into the Lingo project, is there a way to do that?

Adding a TM (translation Memory)
Two questions: Work flow, and SQL Server connection
1.
For the first time, I've just bundled my project to send to a translator. There is no translation memory yet. Can I save the TMX that I get back from the translator to the SQLServer database? (I'm not savvy yet about Server DBs.) Is there a good ...

Re: Use Lingo even if translator uses something else?
Thanks all, for the information.
I'm not currently outputing the Simple Chinese to PDF, but good to know about the parenthesis.
A time-limited license of Lingo sounds--maybe too good. Great idea. I guess you are also saying that any XML editor can be used to edit the content files as long as one ...

Re: Use Lingo even if translator uses something else?
Here's a question for RamonS: you recommend to Linda that I'd send the project over (not the compiled output) . However, her translator does not have Flare or Lingo. Being new to translation, I'm wondering how the translator can use the Flare files, do all the translation, including TOX, index ...

Thanks.
Not to worry about your THIRD item: the files are on a hard drive inside the product we sell.
Your SECOND item: Spaces may be a problem. I won't test that theory soon. I typed the %20 into the field. What's weird is how some work and some don't.

Re: Link from Webhelp to Topic in Exteranl webhelp
Thanks, but... My Webhelps are not published to the Web. They are in an embedded system that the customer can (and most likely will) use without internet connection. After the app opens the first Help file via CSH call, I'm attempting to link to the other Help file (which is in another language ...

Link from Webhelp to Topic in External webhelp
With Flare 8, how do I link from a topic page of one Webhelp to the topic page of another webhelp? I have used Hyperlink > External. Listed this as my external file: ../../../FLXHD_OpChineseWHelp/FLXHD%20Chinese%20Op%20Help_CSH.htm Which I typed in so that Flare doesn't change it.

Re: How do I add autmatic page numbers to HTML Help
Thanks for the reply, Jason,
In the skin properties > General Tab, the TOC , Index , and Search tabs are all selectable--deselect the TOC to not display it. I use a mini-TOC on the content page that leads to other mini-TOCs.
Good idea about the Web Help, however, I did also create a Web Help output ...

How do I add autmatic page numbers to HTML Help
With Ver 7 (or 8 after I install it), I want to add a page number to every topic. Is it true that the Footnote Proxy only works for Print output? If yes, any ideas on how to do this.

Can anyone outline the main differences between a TableStyle (in the TablStyles folder) and a Table subclass in the main CSS (in the Stylesheets folder). That would be a great start to solving an issue I have which is this,

I avoided this problem by creating another table below it and copying the contents to it. I don't know what the issue was, but it may have been a RoboHelp-conversion corruption something . . .
