Re: How to import one Flare project into another

True, but I have to do this with Word output first, then WebHelp

It appears Flare does not support outputting merged projects to Word format. And this is something I have to do.

Please don't tell me I have to keep RoboHelp around for this.

Screencapture and paste in powerpoint

As long you use Analyzer to open and analyze your projects at a fairly regular basis, you can create a nice historical log of topic statistics about your projects, such as changes in topic count over time.

Use capture, snagit or just Print Screen to crop and insert the image into your powerpoint ...

Keep analyzer open as you edit

One way to keep a tab on statistics, if you can spare the memory, is to
keep Analyzer running in the background as you develop and edit your Flare Project.

Its a good habit to develop. It lets Analyzer update your project statistics daily as you update with your project. When you're done at the ...

Re: How to import one Flare project into another

The existing line does not support this directly.

However, if you're producing merged webhelp, all you have to do in your 'main' or primary help system is to
Create linked build at runtime TOC entries , and Flare does the rest to integrate it all in your webhelp output.

Re: Search - mouse over Rank and Title - how to change color?

In your Webhelp output folder, browse to Content\SkinSupport and open MadCapSearch.js in Notepad or your favourite text editor.

Find the following line of code
function ResultTROnmouseover()

In the curly brackets, you will see something like this:

this.style.backgroundColor = "#dddddd";

I assume the content of your masterpages are not appearing in both

-print
output types

Have you tried the Application Sample project type and seen how the sample master pages work yet.

Anyway for your online master page,
You need to include at least the Body Proxy.
After that you can type ...

Re: Index spacing in print

I tried fiddling around with indexProxy with 'print' medium turned on, but i don't think you can at least not in this version of Flare. I also tried double-clicking the IndexProxy in the XML editor. I think you can tweak it for Frame output though.
Perhaps this is something Blaze can do.

I think DITA is as much about adopting a mindset. It is about thinking about your documentation in terms of infinitely reusable, tagged, structured, standardized mini topics instead of books and pages. I am sure there's a good sentence in there somewhere...:)

Re: any problems creating database?

Found the problem...

Your Translation Memory database must be created in the same drive name as your SQL Server Express installation location. For example if you install SQL Server Express in C, the Lingo TM database must be installed in C not in D.

We use source control to source code only. We try not to put the binaries or compiled help in the source control server. I think the location for this compiled help is usually called the QA drop server. Usually just a file server where developers and everyone else dumps their latest compiled ...
