Re: Single source / different images sizes

Another point to note...
the ever useful Flare help system has an article on DPI for Single-Sourcing images (topic of the same title)
or search for DPI, and you'll hit it.

You'll need Capture unfortunately.

Re: Chaps i think there's a need for a Really Good Flare book

For me, the main areas I had trouble with weren't to do with Flare as such, but more that I needed to understand (X)HTML and CSS in order to use it and get the best out of it.

Re: Chaps i think there's a need for a Really Good Flare book

Flare is awfully powerful. But to produce immediate professional results, there's a fair bit of customization, if everything has to be built up from scratch. But once, you've standardized the important things, look and feel, you just wanna copy and paste it accross your projects.
My thoughts ...

Re: Chaps i think there's a need for a Really Good Flare book

Hi
Never thought about that actually but cool idea. I was overwhelmed by the Help System as well actually. I couldn't follow the Video tutorials because they were rather sluggish or moved at too tepid a pace for me, too much user interaction required. :) But the Help system is good once, you've ...

Re: Single source / different images sizes

Same here mr Tom Johnson. I've been tooling around and I know this for a fact now after much frustration..

DPI is for print.
Pixels Resolution is for Screen Output.

In PNG, if the metadata is set at 96 dpi (no correlation with Pixel Resolution), the image will be sized accordingly when you ...

HTML Help output Images and MS Word Images driving me nuts

I am finalizing a converted word document into Flare.
It consists of Screenshots and steps

I'll produce HTML Help and Print output

This is what's driving me nuts.

I've reset the Sizes for all images in the Flare project after conversion (all 40 of them) a good finger exercise i imagine. ...my ...

We use TFS over here.
Regardless even in Robohelp x5 days you could work with some sort of code versioning system.
Regardless of your choice, working is gonnna be a bit slower once you bind them to the code versioning system. The network for file adds and deletes and moving files around, checking ...

Re: Pat Dear Leads Mimic Product Development

The thing i like about video recording versus computer simulations si that they computer simulations have this knack of running slow, with all kinds of necessary interactions and appearing sluggish.

Re: Search and Replace question

I discovered recently that I would like to replace a block of text (code) in Flare. Unfortunately the search and replace is a line by line searcher. It doesn't search more than up to the EOL (end of line). So i wouldn't be able to create a regular expression to replace a block of text. alas.

I like the look of a lot of that, esp Team Server and X-Edit.

The relationship between X-Edit and X-Edit Express isn't too clear.
X-Edit Express says it's "free", but I'm not sure if that means it's free in the sense that I can download it and use it with my Flare projects (without either me or my ...

Nonetheless you're right. Its a choice of the best representation method. To represent as a captured image or as a Math Markup Language.

Looks like no one in the forums has encountered this yet. Thanks!

Re: How to insert Math equations and formulas

I would like to insert mathematical divisions and multiplies, displayed in the correct mathetical form and expression. I could write it all down in one line i.e thisvar * thatvar((thisvar/thatvar)*100%)

Traditionally i could also use Microsoft Math 3.0 in Word 2003 to insert a math object. Or ...
