Re: Stylesheets mixing up (or something)
If you right click on the style sheet in the content explorer and select Show Dependencies, you may find the connections. I just did a similar cleanup. This is probably not the easiest method, but it helped me find get everything unstuck from an obsolete stylesheet.

Snippets and Stylesheet links
What is the best practice (are best practices) for linking stylesheets to snippets (Tools menu)? When should one link to a stylesheet and why? I did not see this in the Help system.

Re: sidehead problem
I think you may need to "clear the float," as Charles Wyke-Smith calls it in Stylin' with CSS . I don't know much about this yet, but he refers to http://www.positioniseverything.net/easyclearing.html for more info. There's a link there to another method as well. I'm a FM user and need to create ...

Basic advice on font-size keywords in CSS
I'd like to try setting up a CSS using font-size keywords instead of ems. I've found some good info at http://diveintoaccessibility.org/examples/fontsize.html and am looking for very basic guidance on font-size settings for the basic elements (<h1>-<h6>, <ul>, <ol>, <li>, etc.) as well as for ...

Re: li font size affected by "make paragraph item"
Thanks for catching my typo, Lisa. I added "em." I'm still working out the inheritance issue in font sizes inside lists, however. Specifically, if I've defined ol and ul as. .75 em, and if I want every level within my lists to use the same font size, wouldn't everything just use "font-size: inherit ...

Re: li font size affected by "make paragraph item"
I've experimented with values in the CSS, and it is getting a lot closer. But I would appreciate any guidance on this--mainly I am guessing. I still see a difference in font sizes between steps 1 and 2.
Here are a sample topic and relevant element values.
Here's the topic code:

Re: li font size affected by "make paragraph item"
Thanks, Lisa. I changed both ol and ul to 1em as you recommended, but step 2 was unaffected (i.e., noticeably larger than other steps in the generated webhelp). The only distinction between this step and the others appears to be that I've used the "Make paragraph item" list action.

Re: li font size affected by "make paragraph item"
Thanks for your willingness to help out. Here's an example--not in a snippet or a dropdown--of how font size has been affected by the "make paragraph" action.

The content in the authoring pane looks like this: largetype_stepwithparagraph ...

Re: Controlling Font sizes in multi-paragraph table cells
Thanks, Andrew. Your note made me look again... I had a 0 value line height that caused the collision. I changed the value, and the text opened up. My original problem, however, remains.

Re: Controlling Font sizes in multi-paragraph table cells
I created the complex selector and generated the output (without making any other change). Here's the result:
I confess: I don't know how to apply the complex selectors (beyond using the built-in listing functions), and the Help system lacks a topic on the subject. Any help is welcome.

li font size affected by "make paragraph item"
If <li>=1em and <p>=1em, why would step 1 appear to use a smaller font (in WebHelp output) than step 2 when step 2 has an added paragraph attached to it (List Actions>Make Paragraph Item)?
This is happening in a dropdown that is in a snippet.

Controlling Font sizes in multi-paragraph table cells
With Body, td, and p tags all set at 1em (verdana), why do single paragraphs in a table cell appear to use a smaller font than multiple paragraph table cells (WebHelp output)? When I add multiple paragraphs to a table cell, it adds <p> and unwanted leading to the initial paragraph in the table cell ...

New to CSS--Looking to simplify the style sheet
I've been building webhelp using styles adapted from Madcap training and the Flare help system and am ready to build Help interfaces that better match my company's software interfaces. With the help of Charles Wyke-Smith's excellent STYLIN' WITH CSS, I am tentatively editing the style sheet. I would ...

Filenames with ampersands don't open in Help
I just discovered that using an ampersand (&) in a filename made it impossible for the Help system to open the topic with the offending filename. After replacing the ampersand with an underscore, the topic opens.

Re: Popups within popups
My workaround was to edit the hyperlink so that the target frame is "same window" instead of "popup" when the original popup topic contained other popups or related topics.

Build Target from toolbar vs. Project Organizer
I seem to get different output depending on whether I build my Webhelp from the toolbar button or by right-clicking my webhelp target (marked Primary) in the Project Organizer. When I build from the toolbar button, the TOC is visible in the Welcome page but not with pages opened from this welcome ...

Text popups/tool tips over an image map
I'd like to provide the Help user with an image map that identifies some potentially unfamiliar features of the Help interface (e.g., accordion bars, dropdowns, glossary items, etc.) that lack tool tips. I could create popup topics that open from an image map, but I'd rather just have simple text ...
