This doesn't resolve your EPS issue, but I've found that SVG file types produce high-quality images for both web and PDF. However, there are a few things to consider when using SVGs:
- Java has to be installed to the PC and/or build machine.
- If generating HTML Help, you will need to configure the ...

Re: Bottom border of tables that break across pages in PDF
Within the General tab of your table stylesheet, my guess is that the "Hide bottom ruling when table crosses a page border" drop-down is set to True. You can either set this to (default) or False to force the bottom border to display.

Re: TOC page number
I believe there are a few things you'll need to configure in your project to get this to work:
- A topic with a TOC proxy inserted and this topic is included in your outline TOC (Project Organizer > TOCs).
- Within the page layout files for your printed manuals, you will need to include a PageNumber ...

Re: Importing HTML File Outside of Content Folder?
Just curious - is there a particular reason for not importing the file into the Content folder?
For example, we have source image files we create in Adobe Illustrator and store in a "Source_Images" folder at the project root. We store them here because we found that when stored within the Content ...

Re: Renaming TMX Languages (in Lingo)
Oh, I think I see what might have happened. If you did try to delete all of the segments prior to importing the updated TMX, you would have to make sure to delete them from every "page" in Lingo. By default, if you highlight all segments on the first page and click save, you only see a blank page ...

Re: Renaming TMX Languages (in Lingo)
Hi Tina,
I couldn't wait for IT to get back to me, so I just imported the edited TMX file, but it only made a copy, it didn't remove what was already saved to the Server.
I'm not sure what you mean by "it made a copy" here. Did you import this file to the existing TM or create a new one and then ...

I *think* Notepad should be fine, as long as you just save the file after making the changes (without changing the file type).

Shot in the dark - but are any of the styles in your style sheet set to "disabled"? Disabling certain styles can prevent the associated options from being enabled in the Flare UI.

Re: Renaming TMX Languages (in Lingo)
You can change the source/target languages.
My guess is that over time, files were imported into the TM database using different XML language tags. For example, some of the files probably included "FR-FR" for French (France) or "FR" for French, etc. You can still use this setup for your ...

Re: Flare's PDF output is a mystery (something chgd from v9-v10)
Not exactly related to the problems you're experiencing, but we've noticed some other font issues for our PDFs between Flare 9 and Flare 10.
Here's what we've noticed:
Humanist is a TTF that we have been using since Flare 6 for the front covers of our PDFs. We switched to Humanist because there ...

Re: Online topics flow together? Impossible?
I ran into the same scenario when first converting to Flare, as we broke all of our longer topics up into smaller, modular topics for single-sourcing. Each topic has a single H1 heading and we can output to PDF or HTML5.
One method I've used is to insert a Mini-TOC proxy into the master page. While ...

Re: multiple languages, one PDF
We create multi-language Quick Start Guides in PDF format. We accomplish this by generating each individual PDF from its own Flare project and then use Adobe Acrobat to manually combine them into a single PDF.

More Asian font issues in CHM files...
I'm using Flare 10.x to generate a Korean and Chinese CHM file.

Re: minitoc proxy not using styles
I believe part of the problem is that in the generated output, the Mini-TOC styles have an "_x" appended to them. In your style sheet, you'll need to specify them without the underscore and number. This is how I've defined them for our HTML5 medium in the style sheet. (I have them all styled the ...

We've noticed the same behavior, and thought it a bit odd, but just assumed it was a side effect of linking between two CHM files in the same directory. Good to know it's a bug!

Re: Hyperlink from one CHM to another
As luck would have it, I am trying to accomplish the very same thing, but my scenario differs a bit. Up until now we've had a DotNet help file that is displayed in a pane in the UI with links to an external CHM file. The link format we've used so far is:
<a href="mk:@MSITStore:xxx.chm::/folder/file ...

Re: repeated footnotes
Yeah, this has been an annoyance for us too. We opted to go the route of displaying the footnote multiple times to reduce maintenance. But when sending PDFs out for review, reviewers always point this out and we just tell them it's a limitation of the software.
