This link is handled by the skin.
Open the skin to the Styles tab
Under the Search Results group, locate Search Results Path.
Set the layout to Display: none

In Flare 12 this is possible in the Skin.
Open your skin to the Styles tab.
In the Header Group there is a style called Search Bar.
Under Layout, set Display to 'none'.

It is difficult to replicate this without some kind of example.

Could you please log this as a bug using our Report A Bug link? This way we can replicate it and get it to the Development teams.

Use the Quick Launch bar for this and/or any file that might be in a project.

In Flare - Look in the upper right corner for it, It's located on the same bar as the Menu. If you don't see it, press CTRL+Q to open it.

This is not an issue with Word 2016

Formatting such as background colors, borders, and columns from Masterpages and Page Layouts have never worked in any Word outputs.

It does sound like something is wrong with the .NET install but have you tried removing the catapultMDIEditor folder yet?
Generally if you cannot start Flare at all, the cause could be in the window layouts. Removing this folder can fix this issue if the problem is in the window layouts.

Hmmm, however, it turns out that applying @robhollinger's suggested fix to our main project stylesheet is screwing up the internal stylesheet used by the XML editor. I tried method 2 (apply directly to hosted css without a build) but it didn't work. I will try method 1 now and see if a build resolves it.

It's those Pseudo classes that are not handled by the browser correctly.

Other examples would be:
MadCap|popup:hover
MadCap|xref:hover

If you were to set the xref hover class, that would take over as soon as you corrected the dropdownhotspot styles.

As a temporary fix and for those who would rather fix already published content use step 1 or 2 below.
MadCap will be issuing a patch/update for this over the next few days that will update Flare 11 and resolve this issue.

Kai,
Use Lingo and send the translators the XLIF files to be translated.
This should remove these issues and make sure your not paying to translate more words than you should.

Not trying to all Sales on you, but Lingo breaks these all up into segments to avoid these situations.
