Re: Cannot see styles in the Styles window (of a project)
That's some good information, Matt. I'm dealing with that situation right now shuffling css around for a word import. Now I know what to look for.

Re: Regular importing of Markdown files
I haven't tried importing in 2023. The issue isn't so much that Flare doesn't know what to do with a markdown file, but rather how to it handles an SSG project import.
Flare pulls in the files and depending on which SSG and markdown it's using, you end up with an index or _index file in every ...

Re: Regular importing of Markdown files
There are tools beyond pandoc for working with markdown content. I started using Mattias Sander's Kaizen plugin this morning. I'm 80% done with a long word import I'd blocked out for 20 hours. Five hours work with the plugin put me more than a day ahead of schedule.

Well, darn. Thanks, Nita.
I hope support doesn't have too much content to shift into Flare when they're ready.

Hiya,
Use the one big body frame in the center for your image and title. In fact, you could even put the image in an image frame. Use the New Frame control to add decoration frames to hold anything you don't want wandering around ("Operator's Manual"). I think replacing the upper and lower body ...

Hi,
Being stuck in a gig where they're married to a static site generator is a bad situation.
I've been there and there's no room for two tools. You'll work yourself to death trying to maintain the markdown content in two places. I've found that devs in SSGs tend to start thinking that they can ...

I set my sizes based on the image shape. For tall images, I set widths to automatic and set length values for heights according to the amount of real estate I want the image to use. For wide images, set lengths to automatic and set the length values for width.

Re: Changing Conditional Tag name without breaking documents?
When I've needed to do that, I made the changes outside of Flare in a text editor with a "find/replace in files" function (I use TextPad) and ran it across all files.
In that editor, I can also open _all_ the files and the step through the hits one at a time.

I can't speak to that - I was way out of the loop with Flare/Central for the lasty year and didn't even realize it had changed until I was looking to write up a PO.
It's pretty easy and they have a video for reviews. They're just like us. Some writers and a bunch of devs scrambling to get things ...

Hi Ambrose,
I've just done two fresh installations and didn't encounter that message. Since it's talking about explorer.exe, my bet is that it is a Windows issue.
Please post a screen cap or the full error message text if it happens again.

I suspect the delays are related to fetching object from Font Awesome.
You can check that using Dev Tools>Network tab. Open the help project, open Dev Tools, then reload and check the waterfall display to see what's eating your i/o time.

Re: How do I create a cross-reference to a numbered step?
There is a difference between using a defined Paragraph style that is configured with auto-numbering and simply clicking the "numbered list" button on the tool bar to make an Ordered List. One makes an object that has a numeric reference, while the other is a construct formed when a browser renders ...

Hi Amit,
The function you're wanting would best be implemented with separate Targets that use individual TOCs for each Topic sequence and a pre-generated a PDF that you provide as a link.

Hi Alan, you might try using pandoc to convert it into html before feeding it to Flare. I had better results and less clean up on my import.
