She definitely did it in that order, because we don't create these note tables from scratch. The writers copy and paste the formatted table (with the td classes assigned) from a set of "canned" examples and then type in the note text. So she would have applied the table class after the fact.

Applying table class deletes td class
I am positive this used to work, but seems to be broken now in v5 and v6. I have some note tables that have a style class applied to each column (in the source it looks like <td class="noteicon"> and <td class="notebody">.

Re: Increasing white space in topics - and hanging indents
Hi Deborah -
I'm not sure what you're asking--perhaps you had formatting in your post that didn't come through. Do you want your text to be indented underneath your text? If so, you can tweak your stylesheet to make that happen. Maybe you can post a screenshot of what you're trying to achieve.

Re: Does this forum need FAQs?
It seems then, that the easiest way to implement this is to add an FAQ post to the General Discussion forum for each product and make it sticky. The FAQ topic itself should consist of a series questions with either a brief answer or a link to a topic or KB article.

Does this forum need FAQs?
I'm at WritersUA in Seattle, and I have been promoting this forum to people I've met who are using Flare and struggling with various issues. It occurred to me that one thing this forum lacks is an obvious mechanism for answering FAQs.

Thanks Dave. That was lazy of me. I had Flare open, and should have looked in the source to be sure I got it right.Dave Lee wrote:In that example, you'd need to search for p class="note" .

Re: Search/Replace format style in all topics
Yes, you can do a replace in the source code. In the Find and Replace dialog, put something like class="p.note" in the Find what field and put the replacement style name in the Replace with field.

Re: Is this a bug or a feature - AltGr+B?
Wow that would be annoying. I don't think Flare allows you to customize keyboard shortcuts, though that would be a nice feature to request (https://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx). There are functions that I would love to associate to my own keystroke combination, the way you can in Word ...

Re: Index shifting to next page
How are you generating the border between the Index heading and the index proxy? Is that a separate paragraph item, or a CSS style? It is also odd to me that the Index heading is right aligned in the incorrect example. Did you look for subtle differences in the source?

Re: PNG image not appearing in PDF or Page Layout
Wow, what a strange problem! My cover image was "disappearing" from the decoration frame because of a change I made to the stylesheet. (Spot on as always, Lisa!) The short version is that I had added a "background-color:white" rule to the body style, and that was overriding the image in my ...

Re: PDF output now wanted in Word first
Seeing how often questions are asked on the forum about why things don't work as expected in Word, I've been wishing that someone would compile a concise list. If you've got your PDF working the way you like, it would be great if you could post back a list of issues you encounter with Word output ...

Re: adding <dl><dt> and <dd> tags in XML Editor
It's strange, but I can't find any way to start a <dl> list either from the XML Editor. If it's there, it's quite hidden. Sounds like a bug/feature request to me.
As a workaround, I would create a basic <dl> list in the Internal Text Editor, and then make a snippet out of it. Then you can insert ...

"Quick" depends on how good you are with your graphics editor. Changing the accordion colors is easy to do, but changing the icons may take more time.

Re: Black print - not made up of colors
I would talk to your print vendor. My guess is that their printer is smart enough to realize which pages need color, and which are "black and white". It then prints the pages that are "black and white" differently to save toner. If every page had some color on it, your pages would look the same, but ...

I tried playing with this and was able to get it to work from within the TOC. I could specify for a particular TOC entry that it should be opened in a different skin, and that worked (using v5 SP1). All of my links in the TOC open using the default skin, but that one TOC entry opens ...

Re: basic issue saving building and publishing.
I'm not sure I follow all of your question, but I think you may be confusing the project folder structure with the output folder structure. When you create a new project, Flare creates the folder structure as in your first list. If you need to move a project (or if you're adding a project to source ...

I can confirm that it does the same thing for me. If I use Ctrl+3 when the cursor is at the end of a word, it replaces the word with the variable. If you press Ctrl+Z to undo, you can see that it selects the complete word where the cursor is before inserting the variable.

Re: Inserting a variable causes deletion of the previous word
I do not have that problem using Flare 5.0.1. I can insert a variable immediately after the word with no ill effects (the variable is inserted with no space between the it and the preceding word). In fact, I can insert a variable in the middle of a word with no problem.

I'm not clear what you need to do. How you merge is going to be driven by what you need to merge. What things might be different? You mention the FLPRJ file, but does that mean you need to merge the Project properties?

What is the result in Flare? (I'm not sure what you mean that it doesn't work at all).
If the name of the variable is "0IntroCS", do you have other variables that use a digit as the first character? I don't think that would be an issue, but maybe you can try renaming it. Or perhaps it doesn't like ...

I found this entry in the KB: CHM Files Fail to Work When Placed on a Network/Remote Locations . This implies that you cannot use CHMs over the network at all , but we are able to use the CHM just fine on our network. So one would think there is something one could do to fix it....
