I produce webhelp output from Flare and just updated my stylesheet and skin for it. Everything looks great but one bit of bevaviour has changed and I can't figure out why.

Hi there,
I'm looking for information about creating a totally custom front-end for "web help" authored in Flare version 5. I'm working on a project where the traditional 3-pane webhelp look and feel isn't appropriate. The project team wants to go with a custom webpage type look with a search and ...

Re: Formatting TOC, Index, and Search
Ah yes you were correct. The file didn't upload but once it did my TOC looked as I wanted it too. The index however, remains an issue. It seems that the MadCapAll.js file only changes the TOC settings. Is there possibly another file for the Index?
Many thanks!

Re: Formatting TOC, Index, and Search
I spoke a tad too soon. It did work however, when I upload the published files to our website, the red colour comes back! Any ideas on that?
Thanks,

Re: Formatting TOC, Index, and Search
hi David,
I followed the instructions in that kbase and nothingchanged. My hover colour is still red and when I view source on that frame it says that it's still red:
a:hover
{
color: #ff0000;
text-decoration: none;
}
But the colour in MadCaptoc.js is now #FF8C00 (dark orange)
Any ideas?
Cheers ...

Re: Restart numbering of ordered lists
The list always starts at 1 (which is good becasue that's what I want), but it never restarts within a single topic. I noticed when I looked at the text view the numbering is restarting as I expect, but in the xml editor it isn't.
I have attached images of the numbering in the xml editor and then ...

For the TOC, I'm trying to do the following:
• increase the space between the chevron and the text
• Have the green entries be underlined
• Change the hover colour so it's not red
For the Index, I'm trying to change the colour of the ...

Re: Formatting TOC, Index, and Search
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your explanation - it's helpful for me to understand what happens when I publish.

Thanks. That's too bad. I did see that option but because it can only do a solid colour it's not what I was looking for. Good to know that you can't do it.

Customizing the navigation frame background
Hi there,
I need to customize the background colour/gradient of the navigation frame in my webhelp output. Is there a way to do this?
I've included a screenshot to indicate the area I'm talking about (not sure if I've used the right terminology).
Cheers,
P

Hi there,
I've just started using the Feedback Service so I apologize in advance if this is a really silly question.
