MadCap Tech Support also recommended resetting the window layout--that did the trick. This appears to be a bug in the UI.

Here's a valuable tip I just learned from MadCap Support: if Analyzer starts acting strangely (for example, refuses to open a Flare project that worked fine moments ago), simply delete the Analyzer folder within your Flare project, then relaunch Analyzer. When I try to delete a style from my Master Stylesheet, I will sometimes get this error message:
