Hi,
We create Webhelp that our customers install locally. We dont have MOTW enabled because we did not want to tie ourselves down regarding the ability to link to external files in the future. So, ordinarily when you open the help in IE you get the flashing bar saying you need to allow Active X. To ...

Re: Auto-remove broken links from output
There isn't any purpose-built scripting in Flare so it sounds like a good candidate for a feature request to me. Flare is centred around the concept of a (Flare) TOC and this seems like a natural extension of that idea -- you want your TOC to drive the whole build process without the need for ...

Re: Auto-remove broken links from output
Hi Dániel,
I see what you are trying to do now. I am not aware of a way to do this in Flare, but if your output (or intermediate output) is HTML then maybe you could hunt in Google for some free utility that is usually used to check and fix broken links on website pages.

You could apply a condition to all topics that are not in your TOC then set the target to exclude that condition.
In fact, if you do this you can also use conditions to sort out your issue of removing hyperlinks when the topic is not available. I will reply to your other post...

Re: Help! Error "The specified path, file name are too long"
You can work around this in Explorer as follows:
i. Share your root Flare folder (the one with the FLPRJ in) as a network folder. Set permissions so that only you or local administrators can access it.
ii. Create a mapping to the shared folder that you just created

Re: Build Issues after converting to Virtual Machine
This issue can occur if you have a desktop search engine indexing the Flare project folders. I use Copernic Desktop and it happens all the time with that. Not a big deal...I just close it down temporarily when generating Flare outputs. It always solves the issue. (You could also configure it not to ...

Re: Multiple style sheets
Thanks Dave. You have confirmed the way I thought it worked, but not really answered my question. To phrase it a different way, I am considering putting in an enhancement request to have a setting that controls whether or not you can still apply a topic-specific CSS when you have set a CSS for the ...

Re: Trados SDLFILETYPE file for Flare topics?
Thanks Jason, that's very helpful. Looking at the instructions I think I was wrong in my assumption that the filetype would be general to all Flare projects -- you need to set up rules related to each element and the list of possible elements will depend on your stylesheets. Is that right?

Trados SDLFILETYPE file for Flare topics?

Re: First table row is not breaking as expected in PDF
I found the problem. It's in my topic code. This is the code corresponding to the last pgf of text in the "long" cell:
<p>TEXT</p> </td>
I noticed the " " part was not embedded inside a <p> tag (or any other tag within the td tag for that matter). So I figured it must be there my mistake ...

Re: First table row is not breaking as expected in PDF
I don't think this would matter, but you might try setting the vertical align on all three columns to top and see if that helps. Perhaps having alignment of middle on the first and third columns is making it hard to figure out where/how to split those columns.
Good suggestion but didn't make any ...

Re: First table row is not breaking as expected in PDF
I don't think the tablestyles have settings to control page breaks -- I think they inherit what you've got going on in the main CSS style sheet.
This sounds like a difference between versions. I'm on 7.2. In the table style editor at the bottom of the General tab and Rows tab there is a button ...

First table row is not breaking as expected in PDF
Got a problem that is driving me nuts...
Instead of starting after the previous pgf my table is jumping to the start of the next page. This is because the first row is too big to fit on the current page (if I make it shorter it does start ok). I am using a table style for the table. So, I figured ...

Thanks Leon. I've corrected the doc. When I saw the code in question I tried to reproduce it in the XML Editor and was unable to do so. At that point I assumed it was a bug similar to the known bugs with removing conditional text. However, the doc did begin life as a converted FrameMaker project so ...

Just to clarify things...the solution I proposed does not require Lingo. However, there may be a better way to do what you want using Lingo. I don't have it so can't comment on that.

Re: Language Skins
Hi,
I think the important point to note here is that if a label is not explicitly defined in a skin file then Flare uses hardcoded defaults. You can see this for yourself by opening the default skin in a text editor -- it does not have any labels defined and yet a Webhelp built with the skin will ...
