Try renaming your import file "Admin" and see if that does the trick. For me (Flare 5) it seems the folder name is whatever the import file is named.

Re: failed to process image: out of memory
A few suggestions that have worked for me in the past:
1) Reboot and try the import again
2) If working off a network, copy the project to your local drive
3) Try a different image format (e.g. gif instead of EPS), or for me somtimes just opening the image and saving in a different program (e.g ...

Re: An Item with the Same Key has already been added
Flare 5 does not like duplicate TopicAlias markers - please see this thread http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9493 I've also found the same thing happens when you have duplicate Hypertext "specifiy named destnation" text. Flare 4 does not exhibit this behaviour - I recommend you ...

Re: Inserting Code Comments into Legacy Topics
Have you thought about using topic styles? That carries a number of benefits I can see:
1) You can use different master pages to customise the look of backgrounds or breadcrumbs etc depending on the topic type, or add code comments at the master page level rather than every topic.

Re: non-breaking hyphen getting lost?
Passthrough markers can be used if importing from FrameMaker to Flare. In FrameMaker you set up a marker called PassThrough. In the marker you enter raw XHTML code, and Flare will "pass through" that code untouched into Flare. It is really useful and quite powerful, a few possible examples: you can ...

See this thread: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... =75&t=9894, half way down. You may be better off using topic popups than glossary terms.

You could use a graphic, or the unicode character for "Ballot Box" as follows:

Greg
- In Flare, Insert>Character>Select Quick Character

- Click OK
- Use the shortcut key F11 to enter the character.

I have another question about inserting glossary terms: Can I have text in my topic that links to a glossary entry but doesn't match the text of the glossary term?
In short, no. The glossary term has to match in the term in the topic. There are a couple of possible workarounds I can think of:

The glossary file (under \Project\Glossaries) is an XML file, and can be opened in any program that can handle XML (notepad, Word/Excel 2003 or higher etc). I tried a quick test, and opening in Word and then printing gives quite good results.

Changing the HHC TOC name in HTML Help
All our TOCS are compiled as "_Temp.hhc" in HTML help. We need this to be something else as a different TOC name is referenced in other legacy help files (when merging the TOCs). I can't see a way to change this from within Flare, and I really don't want to have to modify the output folder and re ...

Re: Topic identifier value format
Try opening the header (.h) file in a text editor (in Flare you can right click the file and select Open With>Internal Text Editor) and enter the numeric identifiers that way. For us, Webhelp and HTML Help still seems to compile (and context links work as expected) with numeric identifiers.

You can always just leave the file open after your change, open the next topic etc. Then after a while click File>Save All and then Window>Close All Documents. That might save a bit of time?

This will happen if you import, then reimport and select not to overrite the files. To fix:
1) Manually delete all your imported topics and graphics, also check Project/TOCs for additional ones with 1,2 etc appended and delete.
2) Go to your import file, and click the Reimport button.

Re: Can't get outside border in table in PDF
This could be caused by any number of things (local or main stylesheet overrides, content of the cells, medium settings, or even a bug with Flare). And if it's only showing up in the build (not the preview) it is going to be hard to troubleshoot. Do you have a maintenance plan with Madcap? If so I ...

You have 2 options:
1) use the table paragraph outside the table, import, map the table styles to CSS styles, then go back and remove the paragraph.
2) open the import file in a text editor, and manually add in the mapping. THe section to edit is <ParagraphStyles>, and you'll need to add lines like ...

In my experience Flare imports Frame files under the book name subfolder, and with topics named after the Frame heading (escaped):

Do you not have any headings in your Frame files? Could you rename the files afterwards? If it was a one-way import ...

Re: enhanced superscript?
Are you using for your superscript? That appears to work OK for me (i.e. correctly raises the text and reduces the font size - not quite by half, but it is reduced). Maybe something else is overriding your styles or there is something odd happening with your font?

Try negative padding, that has done the trick for me before. But as LTinker said, autonumbers are a good way to go for this kind of thing. Are you using points, em, % or some other unit for the font size? If em or %, then the user can modify the text size using view>text size (IE), view>zoom (Firefox), or ctrl + the scroll wheel. It may be that your footnote text is scalable and your body text is a fixed pt size, which means text zoom ...
