Where does this override come from? The table header in the FrameMaker source file does not have any overrides, both cells use the same paragraph format. (The table header row has a coloured background and white text in FrameMaker if that helps.)
In my experience, FrameMaker can sometimes have ...

Magic eh! That's what I love about Flare, you can easily add targets (and the defaults are also very sensible). You can very quickly demonstrate a variety of print and online formats to impress even the most sceptical of pointy-haired bosses

Re: Mishandling GIFs during FrameMaker import
For me, using Flare 4.1, Frame 8, Acrobat 7, Flare successfully copies across referenced GIFs, maintaining the filenames. My graphics properties in FrameMaker are Scale 75%, 96 DPI

Re: GENERAL style issue... ESPECIALLY TABLES!
As a tip, try tweaking your CSS in the final output, rather than within Flare. Use a firefox addon like web developer or firebug to test some of your output HTML files. A useful feature (for web developer, I haven't tried firebug but imagine it is the same) is to edit the CSS on the fly via a split ...

Re: Page columns in Word output
I read something interesting in the help regarding columns and the index. For word or frame output, you can edit the index proxy to get multiple columns to appear. For PDF output, you have to do this via page layouts. So it looks like multiple columns are available for frame/word, but only for the ...

Just got a reply from Madcap, saying that page layouts were designed mainly for PDF and XPS, and not every feature is available for Word and Frame output. That includes columns

Re: Why are glossary terms appearing twice?
Just a thought, but could you roll your own glossary? By that, I mean create a separate topic with a list of glossary terms and add it to the TOC. Then in the skin, clear the check box to create an accordian item/TOC entry for the glossary. That would give you more control as you could have multiple ...

Add a report to the project, select the table: TOC- Primary Target, and click Generate. From there you can open the report in a browser, and save as text, or copy to word etc.

Re: Glossary tab?
The Robohelp glossary tab I think is created using a special DLL file (that your app must install and register), along with Javascript within the CHM. This is not available within Flare.

It works fine for me (Flare 4.1). I defined a new class under "a" in the stylesheet (e.g. DarkGreen), and selected the DarkGreen style when inserting the topic popup.

Re: System Requirements-what's the best PC for Flare?
If possible, find out what they are developing Flare on at Madcap, and use the same setup. That is probably what Flare will be the most stable on - developers will fix bugs they find on their own PCs first and foremost...

Not too sure in this example, but usually a "half selected" check box means the option is controlled on some other level (e.g. another option per topic or via CSS).It is neither enabled, or explcitly disabled.

Re: Shared content and context sensitive help
Sounds like a sensible approach. Another possible way is to use the Javascript method of linking to your help. The developers only need to specify the ID, rather than the full URL. This may give you more options, for example, if the user ends up installing 2 or more applications at the same time ...
