My favorite way of doing this is (you could add this into your master page):
<body scroll="no">
Non scrolling region text
<div style="height:100%;width:100%;overflow:auto;">
Body text
</div>
</body>
You'll need to tweak this for your project (play around with margins and styles), but this should ...

It's possible, but not with the Flare UI.
Open the topic in a text editor.
Give the movie a name, e.g. <img src="movie.swf" name="movie1" >
Under the image, use event handlers to add controls to the movie, e.g.

Suggest sending a bug report through to MadCap. Until it is fixed, you could use a PassThrough marker with the text

Re: Hve you imported a large Frame project into Flare?
I would recommend giving Flare's image conversion via distiller the big sidestep. It is not good at generating quality images, and offers no flexibility in defining the image type or compression etc.

Re: Unstructured Frame compiled WebHelp ... can we get a listing
After re-reading your initial post, I may have led you down the garden path a bit. A TOC proxy might be useful if you want only a listing of the topic headings, but if you want to single source with headings and a description (e.g. the first paragraph in the topic) then you'll need to make use of ...

Re: Unstructured Frame compiled WebHelp ... can we get a listing
You could use a TOC proxy. Create a seperate topic, called "Listing" or similar. Suggest making it conditional so you don't see it in your output. In the topic, click Insert>Proxy>Insert TOC Proxy...
That will create a list of all headings with the "mc-heading-level" style class set.

Re: Skipping malformed index marker
You don't need to escape those characters. Remove the backslash and everything should be fine in Frame, and in Flare.
Attached is a topic from the Frame 8 help which states the characters that must be escaped with a backslash.

Re: Is there a way to create a cross reference to a slave chm?
The correct code to use is:
<a href="ms-its:filename.chm::/topic.htm">LinkText</a>
You could try using that in the Cross Ref dialog: select "Topic in Project" and enter ms-its:filename.chm::/topic.htm (as above). You may get errors etc when building, but it should work. If it doesn't you could ...

Re: Where are the bullets????
I'm suprised Flare is mapping anything from FrameMaker to "li. ..." Typically Flare only gives you the option of mapping FrameMaker lists to paragraph styles (p. ) not list styles (li. ) The recommended way from there is to use autonumbers to recreate your bullets. In the import file>stylesheet tab ...

It would be very handy for Madcap to publish detailed release notes with updates and new versions. It seems that every release fixes broken stuff that we have had a workaround for and then the workaround doesnt work. Often we only find out by accident.

The only problem is that it's a huge undertaking to convert all (200+) these images. This is most annoying.

Re: Import from Frame - images look like cr*p
I hear ya, it's frustrating that you can manually distill from Frame, and save the PDF as JPG and the end result is far superior to what Flare does automatically. I think your only option is to to head away from your PPT referenced objects.

Re: Flare File Size/Compression
As mentioned, you could reduce the compression of the JPGs, which will make them smaller, but will make the quality worse. You could also go with GIFs - they are limited to 256 colors (which suits most applications with the exception of gradients on title bars), and would also reduce the file size ...

Engish, French and Spanish (Chinese wasn't supported at the time, but apparently is now with 4.1)

I've submitted a bug report for that one, I suggest you do the same and it may get looked at. It appears Flare is generating the TOC not based on the actual TOC, but on the para tags in the TOC. A possible workaround is having separate para tags e.g. Heading1Online and Heading1Print, and separate ...
