Has anyone any advice with regard to referring to keyboard shortcuts on the Mac? Are there in fact Unicode type symbols which can be used? For example and Command and Option keys.
I'm having to produce a Mac version of a Windows application, and it is essential that things are as clear as possible ...

Re: TOC Levels - Setting for Word Output
If you open the Stylesheet, you've obvioulsy seen where to alter the Styles h1, h2, h3, etc..
Go down to "p" and open that tree. You'll see Styles for MiniTOC1, MiniTOC2, etc., there, where you can set Heading levels for mini TOCs.
George.

Alias Files
I've figured out how to create an Alias File with automatically assigned Topic IDs, or what Flare calls "Value". So far so good.
However, I need to create a text file which simply shows the ID/Value and the relative path to each Topic.
The information is obviously in the Header Alias files, and I ...

I know you may not want this, but have you tried creating the Index without the leader dots, if only to see if you get similar results?

Re: Word output is removing random words
Have you by any remote chance used any "Conditional" Text?
Other than that, perhaps look for a Topic where a word has gone missing. Open that Topic in Flar, and then click on "Send this file to the text editor".
Hopefully you will be able to browse to that past of the HTML code and see if anything ...

Styles - Cleaning up and consolidating
I've been doing reasonably well reducing the number of Styles which end up in Word, albeit by studying the HTML of which I know very little in detail about.
However I'm stuck in trying to figure out how and why Word ends up with just one or two p_1 and a p_2 Styles in addition to the normal p

Yes - a couple of hundred bucks lighter.
It does however show up some editing issues, but will check out longer before I bug them.

This may be off topic, but since speed concerns with Flare started it, I may as well finish by explaining the outcome.
I took veryone's advice, inlcuding Flare Tech. Support, and bought 8 GB of RAM.
Fitted it, restarted, could get to BIOS, but no further. (Old RAM back in, and still worked)

Re: Mapping Flare styles to Word OUTPUT styles
Aside from running mnore than a basi cmacros, that's essentially what I've been doing. Of equal worry is the failure to carry over "Alt-Tags", for which I even have a Flare Big Report number for. I've around 600 screen shots in the main .chm file(s) and the prospect of adding all these again in Word ...

Re: Unresolved Links in Word generation.
Lisa, I feel a right idiot here. But then again, I do rather see it as a software flaw, or shall we say "missinformation".
Essentially I was describing 4 dialog tabs, each of which is covered in it's own Topic.
What I had done within each topic was to create Hyperlinks to the others. BUT, I had ...

Unresolved Links in Word generation.
This has been driving me nuts for days now. I have six errors similar to the following, and unless I am missreading something, the errors don't tell me what file in my Word compilation it is looking for. I've tried all manner of searches, but.....
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I suspect your problem may be similar to mine. So please bear with me if I'm wrong.
I'm working on a new Book - part of a major .chm project. I had a problem where my on-line chm had links to files which were not to be included in one of the books.

Setting Font colur in Word to "Automatic"
This relates to generating Word output, with Flare 8.
Because I am generating what are intended to be "accessible" Word files for partially sighted and blind people who use screen readers, I ideally need the fornt colours when they arrive in Word, to be set to "Automatic" as opposed to a fixed ...

Focus Issue
I've been having to do some editing in a project, opening each topic sequentially from the TOC by double clicking on it.
After saving the topic, focus appears to be placed two items down the TOC.
Before I report this to Madcap, is anyone else seeing the same issue?

Yes, I've done that. I even used one of my Gold Support tickets yesterday to no avail. The conclusion was that it would not work if creating a Word file, so if there's a bug, it the fact that it allows you to **think** you have done it, but fails to tell you that you can not.

FWIW, can I add my request for an easy means to map Flare Style Names to Word Style Names please?

Glossary for Word
Has anyone any suggestion how I can produce a Glossary when generating a Word version, where the terms in the glossary can be linked to from the term in the text itself?
The alternative seems to be to create multiple topics, which is a long winded way of doing things.

Re: Index in Word as Hyperlinks
Many thanks, I'll start hunting.
I have to say, and I know I'm not alone here, that an Index without hyperlinks as about as much use as a chocolate teaspoon in terms of a navigable document.
