Re: Printing XML Editor view complete

Hi Nita,

2nd attempt to reply. Tried what you suggested and no joy.

Created a TOC and Target to Word with no Conditions for just the one Topic, and was a step closer.

Ideally what I'd like is what you see here from using SnagIt. (Albeit the full page!)

Printing XML Editor view complete

I'm hoping this is the correct place to ask.

Our project contains a great deal of Conditional Text since one of its main primary purposes is to provide help for Windows and Mac versions of the main software.

For checking purposes, I would like to be able to print everything I see of a single Topic ...

Re: What is a CatapultTarget?

The irony of it all is that the principal behind the reports is first class.

My most recent effort, which was a shade easier than most, was to run a report which suggested over 14,000 items become Styles instead of local formatting. I'm a great believer in the use of Styles, especially when using ...

Re: V12 Update released June 1st

After a few more of these, we realised they usually occurred where there were updates of 40-50+ files. And some of those files can be 3-4,000 lines of code, usually tables.

I should say that the git server is in East coast USA and we are in the UK.

It's a pain, but we're tending to use "Git Bash ...

Re: What is a CatapultTarget?

Many thanks. You gave me a valuable clue.

I'm afraid this is very typical of MadCap's in-built reports. What it means is: "Hey dummy! We can't find the TOC file you have selected in the Target!"

Sadly this is something that has driven me nuts of late. Brilliant concept though these reports may be ...

Sincere apologies if this the wrong forum to ask on, but could not figure out which was best. However as I'm developing Help for Windows and Mac project, which involves multiple output types, and having issues, I'm hoping.........

Font changes when out to Word

Have upgraded to Flare 12 including latest service pack. Also using Word/Office 2010.

I won't claim to be an expert, but I have been using Flare almost since it's initial release. Our project is for software used internationally, and by necessity, uses a huge range of characters.

On discovering ...

MARKUP Report and Non-breaking Spaces

Flare 12 (Latest build)

Given that the Markup report lists in what type Tag there is a question, wouldn't it make sense to add the Line Number it refers to?

Having run the default "Markup" report, and begun with a count over "22,000 Markup Suggestions", I'm finally down to the last 281.

The vast ...

We have Flare 12 (fully updated) on a Windows 7 Po desktop, and a Windows 10 Pro MacBook. The machines are running off a git server, and I'm hoping the following is my missing a local setting.

Am having to do extensive editing of the XML text code.

On both systems, we can use the mouse scroll ...

GIT - What does NOT get Pushed or Pulled

Being one of the fairly lucky ones, it seems Flare 12 and GIT are basically doing what we want. The server is based in the USA, and I have a branch I commit to, etc.. Here in the UK, I have a desktop running Windows 7 Pro, and a MacBook running Windows 10 which are respectively for use at office and ...

After further research, I finally found a Madcap page which shows exactly what I wish to achieve in the first image at http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare12/Content/Nav_Links/Cross_References/About_Cross_References.htm .

However even after downloading Madcap's 290 page Navigation Links Guide, and ...

Page Numbers instead of Hyperlinks

Flare 12 inc. latest update.

When requiring output in Word, is it possible to add a Page Number where there would normally be a Hyperlink?

For example, a Topic in my .chm will have a Hyperlink such as: " See also: Global: Embosser Setup... ".

What I would like to see in my Word file is: "See also ...

V12 Update released June 1st

I applied the latest update to Flare 12, and all appeared to be OK. As we are using Source Control (GIT Server), we did a "Pull", and got the following message. Has anyone any idea what this means?

Background:System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Windows 10 - web page might not be displayed correctly

I have two projects. One will display as expected in Windows 7 and Windows 10.

The second displays OK in Windows 7, but in Windows 10 we get an error at the top of each page which says, "The web page might not be displayed properly. The content of the web page does not match the type specified by ...

Re: Error: Invalid line-height

Many thanks. Goodness knows how line-height got set to "Unicode".

I did however find one irritation with Flare 11. It appears that I did need to exit the Project, not just the Topic, for this particular problem to take effect.

Thanks again, George.

Many thanks indeed. I'd no idea it would be as simple, but it appears to have worked.

Pity about there not being a means to insert a Unicode value as easily as in Office.

Error: Invalid line-height

Flare 11.

Has anyone any idea what the following error is all about, and if/how it can be fixed? It appears (often more than once) when I look at any Topic in my project.

For example ...\the_menus.htm: CSS: Invalid line-height: Unicode

Many thanks.

Now that I am having to author help for the Apple Mac side of things, I have found that I need to use Arial Unicode MS as opposed to simply Arial, in order to display Apple's control codes such as U+2318 ⌘.

Is there any way I can more efficiently and globally change this other than on ...

Re: Jump Buttons - Failing to appear - SOLVED

Having opened a Case with Madcap, it seems there is a long standing bug which prevents the custom Jump Buttons from appearing.
In your Skin: HTML Help Setup, under Misc Options in the right hand pane, you need to ensure that "Show Menu Bar" is unchecked.
