Flare 10.
Having spend an hour trawling through Help and posting here, I still cannot establish why the Jump Buttons fail to appear when compiled into a .chm. In the only Skin used, Jump 1 is checked, the URL is correct, and the button is named (DBT Web Site). I can see the button appear and ...

Ask a developer for strings?! Are you kidding?
Perhaps in very extreme circumstances, but there are many times when either we need it reasonably quickly, or the developer(s) simply would lose such a request.

A comment/wish in another topic was that Capture be more "Snag It-ish". I have to agree and have used both Madcap Capture and Snag It, finally settling on the latter.
However, one extremely valuable feature for many has been the demise of the List Text Capture feature in Snag It's latest version ...

Re: Word output - Table of Contents
Many thanks, Nita. I cannot believe this could be a bug after all this time. I have quite a few Projects which I also wish Word files created from.

Word output - Table of Contents
Have spent an age in Flare 10's Help - Help, please.
Page numbers in my generated TOC in Word, are in inch or so left of the right margin.
Where exactly in Flare do I control this? I've looked at p.TOC1, etc., in the Master Stylesheet I am using, but if the setting to re-position these page ...

This may be the wrong list to ask, but Word Users may just have an answer.

I am using Conditions, and  I had set one of actual snippets to not appear in print, as opposed to setting the condition of the snippet within the Topics. (I can only blame myself for 8 solid hours of using Flare and too much tea!)

Missing Snippets in Word 2010
Before I start diagnosing things, has anyone had problems where snippets are failing to appear when a Flare 10.2.2 project is targeted to Word, specifically Word 2010?

Bless you Nita! I was almost there too!

Hi MattyQ,
Many thanks for the explanation, though I will have to "translate" the terminology. Being a fairly skilled Word user, Flare is quite a transition.

I've never heard of a Character Style (which only means I'd like to know more, but Google hasn't heard of them either). Is there a reason you're not using a span for this?

Tables in CHM files
This question may be somewhat off the wall, but....
I have a need to create a table, which in itself is not a problem. It is currently in Excel.
However, I wish users to be able to select on a specific criteria, and sort on another column.
Is this at all possible in Flare 10

Has anyone tried Flare with Windows 10 yet?
It may still be early days, but if we are to keep up with changing appearances, one thing to be done will be to revise almost all screen shots of application dialogs.

It's taken a while, but with help from many of you, we've made great strides in producing Kindle mobi files. Thankfully if I use Ariel Unicode MS in Flare, they appear in Windows, and port over to the Mac Lion just fine.
Just wish I could key Unicode direct in to Flare as I can in Word.

Re: Apple Mac - Keyboard and keystroke symbols
Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I was meaning the symbols or glyphs as they appear on the keyboard, which are also echoed in the menus where the keyboard shortcuts are shown.
