Re: Using SVN: My own file is locked
If you have a lot of locked files to unlock, you don't have to unlock them one at a time. In regular Windows Explorer (not in the Tortoise Repo-browser), right-click on the folder containing the locked files, choose TortoiseSVN , then choose Release lock . If you also have the Tortoise Repo-browser ...

How to convert existing Web site to Flare?
I have an entire Web site I'd like to use Flare to manage. All the files are in XHTML with CSS. A lot of people link to various pages, so I'd like to maintain all file names. My Web pages all have DIVS that create a wider main portion and a narrower "side bar" with drop-down navigation (all CSS ...

CHM project importer internal error
I tried importing a CHM file and got the following error message: "Project Importer (Internal Error): Index was outside the bounds of the array." Does this ring a bell with anyone, or should I contact Flare technical support? I'm using Flare 9.1.1. Thanks!

Re: ChapNum-PageNum in TOC?
I haven't tested this yet, but this is what MadCap tech support sent me:
"In the TOC properties dialog for the entries which are chapter breaks, select Reset to: {chapnum} - {n} and Format:Text."
I also asked, "How can I include a list of figures and a separate list of tables in my PDF output? I ...

Re: Using single TOC for Master Pages and PDF
I am in a hurry trying to solve a problem myself, but I have the same TOC for WebHelp, PDF, and Word output, and I use the same set of page layouts for both PDF and Word outputs. (I use master pages for WebHelp output.) I have a few things conditionalized for "print only" or "screen only," and I use ...

Re: Snippets and indexing
This is a belated response. Using conditions is an excellent suggestion, but when you have thousands of keywords, the amount of time required to individually mark every single keyword with a condition is prohibitive. Though as you suggested, a regex might work. If/when we get more budget for this ...

Re: Moving files in COntent Explorer
This is a really, really late reply, but in working with Flare, especially when moving files around, I sometimes need to refresh a folder before changes show. (Select the folder, press F5.) Sometimes I need to refresh the folder a few times, or navigate away from it and then back and then refresh ...

ChapNum-PageNum in TOC?
I am creating a template for PDF output of our reports. Our page numbering style is ChapNum-PageNum (e.g., page 3 in chapter 6 would be numbered 6-3), and I can get the pages in the chapters to properly number that way. How can I have the page numbers in the TOC (generated using the proxy) to also ...

Re: Headers with text aligned to left and right
I specified the page break settings for each topic. If I only set those settings for the chapter-level topics, then all the topics run together, which is sort of what I want, except that I want a break at the chapter-level topics, and that isn't working. I'll keep experimenting with the settings ...

Re: Headers with text aligned to left and right
The table solution worked perfectly. Thanks!

Re: Headers with text aligned to left and right
Thanks to both of you! I think the table solution will work, and yes, h1 had page break before set to always, so I changed that in the print medium.

Headers with text aligned to left and right
I am creating PDF output to match our company's Word styles. We don't have unique left/right pages; the text in the headers is like this:
Document Title (left-aligned) (space here) Section Title (right-aligned)
(entire header area has a half-point blue line/border underneath)
How can I create this ...

Re: Are there pre-made WebHelp icon sets in different colors?
Thank you! That's perfect and exactly what I need. I have one more question (I think) for this particular task: where do I set the background color for the entire toolbar?
Edit: I found it: Skin editor > Styles tab > Styles box > Frame > Toolbar.

Re: Are there pre-made WebHelp icon sets in different colors?
Thanks, everyone, for your answers. I asked my daughter to take a look at the icons and she was able to re-color a sampling, so recoloring is an option.
However, I am interested in one of the skins available for download on the MadCap site, but we'd like to recolor it. Most of the skin elements are ...

I'd like to place all skins in whatever location it is that Flare uses when you open the Project > New > Skin dialog box. Do you know where that folder is? Thanks!

Are there pre-made WebHelp icon sets in different colors?
We want to use the Flare WebHelp icons, but change the lime-green in them to another color. Our graphics specialist has taken a look at the default Flare icons and says that the palette is locked in those icons, so she can't change the colors. So I have two questions:
1. Is there a way to unlock ...

Is it possible to have multiple sets of icons?
I am creating a template for my company that is to use our company colors. Re: Unexpected behavior: multiple entries/same target
A very late reply, but I think worth making. I ended up using snippets, but because each of those many tables was indexed row-by-row, that means that there are multiple index entries for each parameter in those re-used tables. Although you can set a topic so it isn't searchable, there seems to be no ...

Re: hyperlinks within footnotes
I found that I can create a pop-up with the footnote content and then replace the footnote entirely. Then, after creating the pop-up, I open the topic in the HTML editor and add an a href to the hyperlinks.
