Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
Our group has been looking in to this for a while and I think we have some information that may help people. Someone on our team discovered that if they tried to generate AIR while not connnected to our corporate network (though they still had internet) it works. If you are having this problem, try ...

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
I think we may be getting close to a solution for this one (for me and my group at least). While MadCap was working with someone from my group to solve this, they had her completely disconnect from the corporate network.
After disconnecting, she generated the AIR output and it worked perfectly! So ...

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
While AIR isn't extremely important at the moment, it looks like it will be sooner rather than later.
The two primary methods we use to distribute help now--aside from tying it to an application--are WebHelp and chm files. Because of what MS has done with security settings, we get constant ...

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
I broke down and tried to apply the solution outlined in this thread. I removed all mentions of Java from my environment variables and uninstalled all Java from my system. I then downloaded the latest JRE and installed it. I put the new paths back in the environment variables.
Still no luck. BTW ...

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
I could remove all the old Java version and hope they aren't required for any other programs, but I don't see why I should have to. Especially since RH seems to work without modification. Ok rant over.
Anyway, could someone from MadCap or otherwise specify what the exact system requirements are for ...

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
Just another log for the fire here . . .
I haven't been able to generate the AIR output via Flare and I have opened a ticket to let MadCap know. I thought it was probably something unique to my setup (windows, Adobe, Java), but a coworker that has been evaluating RoboHelp 7 just came up to me and ...

Re: Section Numbers in TOC, Index, and XRef
Though I still don't have a solution to this problem from Flare, I have found a workaround that works as a band-aid.
If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can edit the text of the pdf after it is created. Select Tools>Advanced Editing>Touch-up Text. This allows you to go in to the ToC and insert the ...

Anyone using a non-MS CMS to manage Flare?
We would like to use our existing CMS, Vasont, to manage our Flare project content. Is anyone else doing this?
In fact, is anyone using a CMS other than one of the Microsoft solutions that are supported out of the box? In theory, since all the files are valid XML it should be possible, but I have ...

Re: Section Numbers in TOC, Index, and XRef
From reading this thread, it doesn't appear that anyone has solved the original issue of displaying the chapter and page number in the printed ToC (. . . 5-2). Has anyone figured out a workaround for this? Or has a bug been opened up for it?

Re: Cannot get air installation package to generate
Is there a bug already opened up for this? I can't generate AIR output either.
At the very least, when it fails it should give you some information on why? I have the latest JVM and it still doesn't work--not even with the included sample project.

Re: Webhelp from Java? Anyone?
In order to use the url method for linking, does the Java application need to have a webserver running? I am not a programmer by any means so I'm really not sure what the requirements are.

Re: Feedback Wish List
I have been trialing Feedback for about a week now, and based on the feedback I have received from users (through Feedback, of course), we have a couple of wishes, so far:
1. Icon or Color Code for Author Comments - It would be nice if all of the comments and replies that were sent from our company ...
