Re: Flare Analyzer not recognising project

I wonder if it's a read-write issue, like for Analyzer proper?

Analyzer topic: Can't open a project

Are you using source control? If so, could be that, like me, you mistakenly had the Analyzer folder in source control. If not checked out, it is read-only and Analyzer won't work.

I removed the ...

Re: Must I use Bind to Source Control?

...However there are certain tasks that you cannot do in that scenario without major repercussions. For example, if you want to rename a file, you have a problem. If you rename the file in Flare, you get your SVN project out of whack, because SVN thinks the new name is a whole new file, and thinks ...

Right.

Re: Tables- multiple row deletion

1) click and drag to select cells in the rows to be deleted
2) Right-click
3) Click Delete
4) Click Rows

OR

Table > Delete > Rows.

Interesting that the command has an Microsoft-type icon next to it, as if it would be available on a toolbar (it isn't, but no biggie).

Re: Glossary tab?

I'll look again into WebHelp, but

a) we are context-sensitive
b) many of our implementations are in remote areas with little or no network access
c) the developers baulked at the idea of a multitude of htm files on the pc (about 1600 active pages)

Re: Anyone using a non-MS CMS to manage Flare?

7man40 - did you ever get this resolved? Are you (or anyone else) using Flare 4.2 bound to Perforce on Vista? Or just doing manual check out/in/add/delete?

Any news?

Glossary tab?

In my RH-generated chm, the glossary could be attached to a tab, with the contents displayed in the navigation panel - this is very neat.

Re: CSS: Invalid float: aligncenter

Got it.

float=aligncenter was set in a snippet created from a footer in an imported RH template.

And the search-and-destroy function is proving very useful for getting rid of the multitude of inline formatting contamination, in conjunction with Analyzer - thanks, Kevin.

The project does have a ...

Re: How can we edit the same file?

As long as you have a Microsoft Source Control API compatible Source Control you can use any source control to bind it to you

Perforce is Microsoft Source Control API compatible but it just refuses to bind.

+1 for source control - I'd say an essential for multiple users.

Perforce doesn't bind with Flare (yet).

Re: Help? Analyzer finding "broken" links, etc., in Snippets

I'd like to add to this discussion - I'm also finding undefined classes in snippets - it's because the snippet isn't linked to the stylesheet.

I haven't found anywhere in the GUI to link a snippet to a stylesheet so I'm inserting a line in the <head> section:

Re: CSS: Invalid float: aligncenter

Thanks for that - problem is that nowhere in the stylesheet css file or the offending htm file can I find the text "aligncenter".

The code (imported from RH X5) is typically ugly - it has LOADS of redundant tags and parameters. I spent a couple of months picking out redundant code and Analyzer is ...

Flare Analyzer not recognising project

I'm talking about the Flare internal analyzer, not the superduper external application.

I too have just installed Analyzer and tried to run it for the first time.

I use Perforce source control. When I tried opening a project that wasn't checked out, it wouldn't open.

When I checked the project out, it opened fine - just took a minute or so (more than 1000 topics).

So am I right in ...

Re: Flare changing table settings; odd appearance in editor

Perhaps more worrying is that the table settings sometimes change - has anyone seen that?

This particular observation is with a one-column table - changes col width from auto to 100%. Not a big issue as it compiles OK and does what I want it to.

On other occasions, however, Flare has changed fixed ...

Stylesheet not being applied

Hi

I have two stylesheets: one for general use and one for just the EULA - one topic. The EULA stylesheet is declared in the Topic Properties dialog and in the <head> section of the topic code, but is not being applied in the XML editor or the compiled help - the standard stylesheet is applied ...
