Re: Heading from Flare Glossary template not printing correctly
I talked with technical support this afternoon and it appears its a bug that showed up just recently. It's been logged and they hope to have it fixed in the next update to Flare.

Heading from Flare Glossary template not printing correctly
I added a glossary to my project and created a Page Layout for the glossary by going to Project > Add Page Layout and selecting the GlossaryResizable.flpgl template. Then I created a Glossary topic from the topic templates in Flare and assigned it to the glossary page layout in the TOC. It's suppose ...

Re: No support for sub-sections in cross-references?
I have a cross-reference to a sub section in one of my topics (<topic name>#.htm) This works fine in the online version, but I just noticed that this is not rendered correctly in the PDF version. The only thing you see is
,page number.

Re: MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
Thanks Nita,
I had been working with the master pages and reading those very topics. I had them reversed in terms of what worked with PDF and what didn't. Now I've created a Page Layout, and I'm testing it out, but even though I have it assigned in the target in the Master Page Layout setting (I ...

Re: TOC icons have red "*"
Well, I talked with customer support. It appears to be some kind of corruption in the skin file. I don't know where the corruption originated, whether it was from the conversion from Robohelp to Flare or moving from Flare 4 to Flare 5. However, when opening up the skin file in the internal text ...

Re: TOC icons have red "*"
Did you enable the "Mark as New" feature? Although that's a topic-by-topic basis, but maybe you had it on one topic and kept replicating that topic. Or were you perhaps playing in the skin and specified different icons to use for the books and topics?

TOC icons have red "*"
I just tried generating HTML help but when I view the output, the icons in the TOC have a little red "*" in them, like it's a broken image link:
So, why would I be getting that and how do I make it stop?

Re: Importing a WORD table into a topic
I've submitted a request to have Flare retain the heading information from a Word table. Word must be doing something that flags the header lines in order to make them repeat at the top of each page so it should provide Flare with the necessary information to set the header row(s) apart from the ...

Re: Importing a WORD table into a topic
If you're copying-and-pasting and you're using Flare v4, there is an option to paste content as a table. I haven't used it since I'm not copying content into this project, so I'm not sure how well it works, but you could try that.

Cross reference pages of separate target output
Here's my problem. I have an document to build and test some hardware/software. They want a checklist to go with the manual and to reference the page in the manual of the topic dealing with that procedure. The checklist will need to be reprinted as often as one of these units is built but the ...

Ok, we've had some more discussion in the office about this. :-) Maybe it's our process that's causing us problems?

Re: How do I edit a callout on an image that's been reopened?
Thanks for the suggestions, but no, we can't select the bubble at all. When we double click, we, of course, get the properties window for the entire image, not just for the bubble.
Our properties are set correctly (they're not set at 'read-only.').

Steve- we're not using source control, but only the project/image owner is updating her respective project/images. The images were captured in Flare, specifically for the corresponding Flare project.
forfear- we're using Capture 3.0.16.

Re: Hi res "Print Version" images no improvement
When I created documentation for our new product, I created two versions of most images: one for screen and a hi res version (300dpi) for print. I relied on Flare's ability to select the proper version depending on the target output. The documentation was output to WebHelp, PDF, and a physical ...

Re: Non breaking space is...breaking.
I had a similar situation because I was developing PDF in two paper sizes -- U.S. letter (8.5 x 11) and pamphlet (5 x 8), and I had to put a soft line break to make something appear correctly in the pamphlet but it looked odd in the letter size, so I ended up applying a conditional tag to the soft ...

Re: Non breaking space is...breaking.
In that case I'd probably manually insert a soft line break (<br \>) so that the whole thing appeared on the next line. Or reword the sentence in some way to get them to stay together. I can't think of a way to get it to treat "Include >" as a single word as opposed to a word followed by a ...

Non breaking space is...breaking.
I have some text that when I create a PDF target, ends up breaking across two lines. In this particular case, the two "words" ( Include and > ) need to stay together. So, I added what was suppose to be a non-breaking space:
click on the <strong>"Include >"</strong> button

Re: Change title above TOC, but keep on the Accordian button?
A long while back, I figured out how to change the logo (in the far right-corner), but I recall that being really difficult too, as the bar has a gradient and is of a certain size, etc.

Re: Funky background color behavior
In your DIV, try setting the width to something suitably large (e.g. 200% or 1000px). Not ideal (as your background color will be a set width rather than to the end of the PRE text), but possibly the best solution other than using Overflow:Auto (and therefore giving the element scroll bars ...

Re: Table cell formatting
I think Lisa mentioned this earlier, but one reason your TD tags are behaving differently from you TH tags is the vertical-align: top attribute in the TD cells. TH should default to vertical-align: center, so naturally it won't match.

Question about identifiers in .h file
I'm a newbie to the whole CSH thing. When creating identifiers for the CSH, I know that you can create a link from a dialog box to a topic. Is it possible to create links to specific fields in the dialog box or just to the box itself. And what if the dialog box has multiple tabs? Can each tab be ...

I'm working on implementing CSH for one of our applications. Our company had had this implemented before when they were using an ancient version of Robohelp but, this is the first time we've tried doing it since converting to Flare. I wasn't here when they last used Robohelp to generate their CSH. I ...

Re: Text wrapping when using underscores
It took a bit of testing to get it right, but I found it.
I'll assume you've assigned a character class(i.e. Span.NoBreak, or something like kbd.NoBreak) to Raw_data .
For the Character Class in Advanced Stylesheet View
Look under Block group
See the white-space class attribute.
