I am translating my WebHelp to Japanese and the "Related Topics" button just won't translate. For some reason it translates fine for the .chm, but not for the WebHelp. Anybody?
I have changed the word "Related Topics" in the skin. I have changed the MadCap |Related Topics stylename mc-label to ...

Re: The Mysterious Case of the Missing Condition Colors (V6)
ouch...er, hello MadCap??
That's the only reason I need not to upgrade. I'd have to reapply the condition tags in both English and Japanese files? God bless anyone with more than two languages! This really has to be fixed. I'm submitting a bug.

Re: How to get Chapter Number in TOC
Keith,
I have the same issue. My pages display the Chapter number and headings the way I want, but the words "Chapter" and the number do not appear in the TOC. I can tell you I tried to alter the TOC1 style in my stylesheet to include an "Chapter {chapnum}" in the mc-auto-number-format property ...

Re: Open a second window (skin) from TOC
Sorry, Roger. I also have no traction on this issue. It would be nice to hear something from MadCap. That it works with RoboHelp generated .chms (in my case) is disturbing considering Flare is a superior product.

Re: Open a second window (skin) from TOC
Don't mean to be a pain, but does anyone have information regarding opening a second window from the TOC? The frustrating part about this issue is it used to work just fine. Actually, if I link a TOC book in Flare to a slave .chm file that was generated in RoboHelp X5 (*gasp*), it still does work. A ...

Re: Open a second window (skin) from TOC
I am having the same problem with my .chm, also in Flare 4.2.1. I want a TOC entry to pop open another .chm in a new window (don't like the merged TOCs) and its not working.

Re: Forcing page breaks before topic headings
Hi Lisa,
Good ideas.
Did you set orphan and widow controls on any of the tags?
I have not messed with either of those controls for the <h1> or <p> styles. For <h1>, they are not set. For the <p> they are set to 3. I am guessing the latter is a default setting, but it shouldn't cause this problem ...

Re: Forcing page breaks before topic headings
Doc Guy,
Thanks for your interest! (First time quoter here, so I hope this works...)
You verified that you made the change in the PRINT section of your style sheet?
Yes. Although, I definitely can see how this is a source of error. If you set a style property in DEFAULT mode (using Advanced View ...

Re: Forcing page breaks before topic headings
Anyone else take a shot in the dark and figure this out?
It is truly maddening to see a page break placed at the end of a topic just go ignored when the pdf compiles. Like CanAussie, my headings are clean and not working:
<h1 class="PgBrkHeadingLevel1">My Heading</h1>

Yes, I check annotations by eye. I don't want him (passively and indirectly) editing any of the actual text.

Re: Sending multiple topics for review in one email?
Just an update...
My reviewer really liked being able to annotate the htm. So I posted full directories on our share drive so he can see all the images. He opens the .htm in X-Edit, annotates, and saves with a "_changes.htm" suffix. I open his .htm file in X-Edit and compare to my topics.

Re: Sending multiple topics for review in one email?
Cecily,
I have zipped many .htm files and sent them for review. Reviewers can annotate .htm files in X-Edit Review and send them back. This works ok, but they can't see snippets or images.
Anyone,

Re: I don't quite understand Snippets
Kevin is right on. If you are using the "Master Project" approach, you will have to create an import file in your child project (In Flare menu Project>Import File>Add Flare Project Import File.)

Margaret, Thanks. That's not exactly what I need though.

Compiling with outside of project file
Is it possible to compile a .chm with a .txt file that is not housed within the Flare project? Rather, is on a network server and updated by someone else?
It's a EULA .txt file that our Legal department updates.

Windows XP Pro 5.1; IE 6.
To thicken the plot, my co-worker's WebHelp appears just fine using the same browser off the same server. There has to be some other setting in Flare that causes this TOC problem.

Yes, I had MOTW enabled. I disabled it, but I still can't view the TOC. Could there be another reason the TOC does not appear when you launch the help from a server?

Re: ToC entries not appearing in webhelp plus output
Has there been any progress on this from MadCap. I have the same problem. The WebHelp (not WebHelp Plus) works perfectly on my hard drive. As soon as I paste the output onto the network drive, the TOC does not appear.
