Re: localization with GWT?
No, but my development team has asked me about it and asked me to research it. They asked if Flare had a skin that uses it or looks like it.

Batch target is building but not publishing
I have four versions of my project, with four targets and four destinations. I set up a batch target in Flare 6 and have all four versions set for build and publish. I can manually fire off a build and publish from the batch definition and everything works. However, in the scheduled mode (automatic ...

Published WebHelp not seeing CSS file
I have run into a problem that appears to be a bug. I'm using Flare 6 and publishing WebHelp to a Linux-based web server. When I do the WebHelp build with the lower case file names option turned on, the output looks fine on my Windows box. However, when I publish to the Linux web server, the styles ...

Re: Wild variation in Analyzer Statistics pane
Good theory, but no ... I didn't do any editing on the project at home, only checked to see if Analyzer showed the broken links there, and it did not.
Rob Hollinger from MadCap was able to clear up the issue for me. The Analyzer folder referred to earlier only resides in the project folder if the ...

Re: Wild variation in Analyzer Statistics pane
Well, that would make sense except that I don't have an Analyzer folder there. I'm using Analyzer v2 and Flare v4 if that has anything to do with it.
Would any of the folders in the screen grab be what I'm looking for? My project files are on my Z: drive, but these are all on the C: drive.

Re: Wild variation in Analyzer Statistics pane
If you delete the analyzer folder and then rescan it, it should give the correct results.
I'm having a similar problem. Analyzer is telling me that I have 109 broken links in my project, but I've checked and they're NOT broken. The link that Analyzer shows as broken is not what the link is in the ...

Re: Breadcrumb trail contents
Interesting point. (I did do a search on the forum before I posted but didn't find anything on this.) I don't know how the "synchronize TOC" function works, but it seems like it would somehow be related. Anyway, I might try a different approach to see how it works for my users, using concept links ...

Re: Breadcrumb trail contents
I understand the reasoning and will give that a try. It seems a like a workaround which should work for now, but it seems to me that the Flare help is wrong, in that the breadcrumb trail doesn't work the way the help says it does. It's probably not a major issue for most, but I hope the Flare ...

Breadcrumb trail contents
From the Flare help:

Re: Toolbar question
Too funny! I've been using Flare since v2 and don't think I've ever noticed it before. It seems to be in time format, so I wonder if it might be how long it took to open the project. Oh well, I was just curious... thanks!

Toolbar question
In v4, what is the greyed-out number at the end of the standard toolbar? It appears to be some sort of time measurement, but for what?

Re: Paste function has quit working
I tried moving it up to the main section of the style sheet, but it doesn't work there either. I'm going to leave it in the style sheet and just leave it commented out for now. It's cool that you can prevent users from copying/pasting from the output, but it seems like a bug if that function is also ...

Ok, I believe I've found the offending entry in my style sheet:

This is under the "@media print" section, and I have no idea what it's for. Any problem with just deleting it?

Re: Paste function has quit working
No, I wouldn't do that without making a backup first anyway. I'm just grasping at straws here trying to think of what to try since it seems to be something wrong in the project itself.
I just tried an experiment that may narrow it down. I started a new project, put an image in a topic, tried the ...

Re: Paste function has quit working
I'm trying to go into as much detail as I can to help troubleshoot this issue. Here is what I've noticed:
1) it only does it in one particular project that I'm working on. If I create a new project, it works fine.
2) In the suspect project, I can copy from anywhere in a topic to anywhere else in the ...

Re: Paste function has quit working
Thanks much for your very informative response. Yes, I do a LOT of copying and pasting, so this is a pretty major issue for me. It worked fine when I first got v4 up and running for a few days, then the problem came up. It has happened over several days, so restarting or rebooting doesn't help. I ...

Re: Multiple pointy bits
It shouldn't be TOO hard to do in Photoshop. Just make sure that each "pointy" is on its own layer, and I would make a separate layer for the text so that it's easily editable. Save the graphic as a Photoshop file (.psd) to keep the layers intact, then from that save whatever format you need to ...

Re: Paste function has quit working
Here's the latest. I'm copying from inside the Edit Picture dialog. I create a screen tip, then copy and paste it into the alternate text box... works fine. Then I try to paste it again as a caption under the image in the topic and I get the error. If I just copy and paste from within a topic, it ...

Paste function has quit working
This is a strange one. I'm working in Flare v4 and I can't paste text into a topic. I was able to before, but that function has quit working. I'm getting an error message that says "Failed to run command 'Paste'. Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I'm able to paste ...

In the skin editor, you can "Hide Navigation Pane on Startup". It's under the WebHelp Setup tab. Will this do what you need?

Re: Image not displaying in Image Frame
I removed it completely. I'm not sure why it had a color in the first place, or why that would cause my image frame problem, but it seems to have fixed the issue. This was something that a previous co-worker had done, and I don't know the reasoning. The suggestion about commenting out sections of ...
